Made a reservation for a nice dinner out after doing a little research. This location had plenty of tables but I was glad I... had called as it was pretty crowded on a Friday night. We were seated promptly and started out with a dozen oysters. They hadquite a selection available so we had 4 different types, and I wish I had written them down as 2 were good and 2 were just OK. We do remember that their "house" oyster was one of the OK ones. But overall was pretty good. I tried their gumbo which was alittle too dark and salty for my taste, and followed up with their Sole and some Scallops. The Sole was OK and the Scallopswere very good. Overall I'm givint it 4 stars. The service was very professional, friendly, and prompt even with all thepeople there. There is plenty of parking around though you may have to use the underground garage. Read more

Pretty decent seafood and oyster restaurant. Service was ok. They brought the sides before the entrées. Drinks were ok. Nice... views of you take a table on the rooftop terrace. Good for a date. Read more

My daughter was telling me about this place. She said that people go there for the fried calamari. So I tried the famous... calamari. She’s right, and I’m glad I ordered 2 dishes because we didn’t want to share ????I tried the mussels which wasreally good too. My daughter and her friends ordered other appetizers and they said everything was excellent! I definitely willgo back here especially for the calamari. Read more

With 5 locations throughout Colorado, it’s easy to see why Jax Fishhouse & Oyster Bar is a favorite! We recently dined at the... Glendale location, which has a large dining area and 2nd floor patio! Not to mention much more parking than downtown. We hadabsolutely outstanding service from Chris. He is a true professional. We started with their oysters. The Emersum oysters areonly available at Jax as it is their own oyster they have “made” with their oyster farming partners. ? New England SeaScallops - celeriac purée, roasted cauliflower, turnips, guanciale, arugula, puffed quinoa. I love cauliflower and scallops aremy all time fav so this dish with the guanciale was a dream. Perfection on a plate. ? Blackened Mississippi Catfish - pork bellycollard greens, hushpuppies, smoked tomato jus. My hubby really enjoyed this! ? Grilled Norwegian Salmon - miso roastedpotatoes, charred chinese broccoli, mushroom aïoli, chile crunch. ? Apple Bourbon Crumble with a scoop of ice cream. ? This hurts to write this review, but I have to. Hopefully they will pay attention. We've been going to Jax for over 10 years... now. It's by far our favorite seafood restaurant. Our usual was always LODO, but the past couple years we end up at Glendalelocation more and more. Even did their pop ups during the time the restaurant was closed. Tonight was hi exceptions for theCrawfish Boil, we've always heard great things about it but hadn't had it yet. Not only was the meal bland, the service was lessthan stellar. Thank goodness for the Host, or Manager, she was great. Start at the beginning. Appetizers, and first drinkscame out fast, good start. The Appetizers were GREAT. Smoked Salmon was perfect, the oysters were fresh and super tasty.Unfortunately the drinks were as weak as I've ever had, if I couldn't smell the alcohol, I would swear there was none in thedrinks. We had finished our Appetizers and still hadn't given our order to the waitress. She had been in our section twice foranother table. Meanwhile, drink one and water gone... She never even turned to look at us. And no, there was no way they wereunderstaffed, man staff running around helping. Almost 12 to 15 minutes before the great hostess again came by with water, andasked if we wanted another drink as our waitress was again at the other table talking about where she was from. We got our mealand everything was luke warm at best. "Boil" to me means that it should be hot, steaming. The Crawfish was cooked great, justnot hot enough, and kinda bland. The sausage was overcooked and dry, the potatoes were almost done, but these to were cold. Itall had potential to be great, but not tonight. Our waitress never even asked if we wanted dessert tonight. We will be back,but hope this was a fluke tonight. The Glendale location has always been great. Let me just say I stumbled upon this place after a long day of traveling. The chargrilled oysters caught my eye because I... usually can only get those in New Orleans, so I decided to check it out and boy I was not prepared for the experience. My firstvisit, yes my first out of four! I always sat at the bar. The ambiance is lovely, nice, inviting and a bit upscale chic. Thebartenders are amazing Ryan, Tyler and Kyle, you just can't go wrong, all very attentive and can make a good drink???? Mostimportantly is the food!!!! You will NOT be disappointed. I was slightly skeptical of seafood in Denver, but I learned the chefflies the seafood in daily ???????? The chef........ Chef Floyd is OUTSTANDING!!! His creations are innovative and flavorful. Icame back each time with different colleagues because I just couldn't keep this rare find to myself. I sampled so much of themenu and can I tell you I loved everything so much, I don't even have a favorite thing. I was in Denver for 6 days and visitedJax 4 times. I felt like a regular. The customer service is top notch, Chef Floyd comes out of the kitchen and greats all thepatrons and asks for feedback about their meals. This is just an all around wonderful experience. Food was amazing and the servers extremely friendly!! Portions were slightly smaller than I expected but not enough to make a... big difference. We both left full and very pleased with our meals!
