Should've written this a long time ago. Doda's is awesome! They're one of my go-to's when I'm in this part of town and if I... lived closer I'd get delivery a lot. The family who owns it are the nicest people and they always remember me. Great place a forsolid lunch that's well priced. I frequently get their lunch special, two slices and a soda, and it's always tasty. And if youhave the time, and people (pies are quite large), to get a whole pie fresh from the oven it's absolutely delectable. Decor istypical NYC stuff but done tastefully with nice large photos/prints. Very clean and well maintained. Prices are great especiallyconsidering the way inflation has been going. Excellent! It took us a while after moving to the area in late 2021 to find our go-to choice for pizza. Doda's Pizza caught... our eye on a recent shopping stop. I checked the reviews and had a good feeling. Bingo! We look forward to exploring theirmenu more, but their mainstay, pizza, has our vote for best. First time visiting this place our group of six were turned away from NYPD Pizza. The food was delicious large portions enough... to take home. The wings are very meaty. Had the cheese ravioli along with calzone fried mushrooms and several slices of pizza.Will definitely return. Read more
First time trying this place and it was AMAZING!!! We placed an online order, very simple, fast & convenient? We ordered the XL... Cheese Pizza with extra sauce. The pizza was cooked perfectly. Had a nice crunch to the crust, but it was not overcooked. Thecheese was perfectly melted & the sauce tasted amazing. The customer service was outstanding! I would definitely return &recommend!!! Love NY pizza? This is the place to go. Photos of NY scenes line the walls and the delectable scent of sauce filled the air.... Honestly, I have not smelled that particular sauce aroma mingling with a pizza oven hot enough to put a good char on it since Ileft NY many moons ago so this was like a time machine. This cozy place has a non-chain family run feel to it, and no wonder, itis indeed a family operated business and multiple generations were there to make me feel right at home. Had I just wanted tosnack on a slice, I could have gotten one--something that is often hard to come by in the Valley. They have reasonably pricedlunch specials like subs, wings, slices, and combos, but I was there to try their original cheese pizza for a no-frillsexperience and it did not disappoint. No soggy parts on the bottom, and as any New Yorker will tell you, just firm enough tofold and pick up and bite into without tug-o-warring it. And that sauce wasn't outta any can, and that wasn't any phony orcheap-o cheese. Short of heading back East, take a little trip to Doda's. P.S. Only a minor suggestion re: the crust. The doughrim could be a little higher so some of those great NY char bubbles could form.... Read more
Outstanding. As a huge pizza lover I stopped by because I was in the plaza and they didn't disappoint. They have a dark cute eat... in section and little outdoor tables when the weather is nice. I give it a 9/10 and I have never given any pizza place in Az a10 so definitely top 5!!! Read more
I was looking for a new pizza spot to try and after reading several reviews from various restaurants, I decided to give Doda?s a... go. Let me tell you, it didn?t disappoint. My son and I ordered a med 14? 1/2 cheese pizza 1/2 pepperoni pizza and ten mediumbone in wings. Pizza was freakin OUTSTANDING? crust was light, thin, crispy, and chewy at the same time. Sauce, cheese, andpepperoni were flavorful and complemented each other nicely. The wings (medium) had a well-balanced tangy/savory flavor, nicecrispy bits on the drums, and were just the right amount of heat for my 11yr old. The staff was very friendly and helpful?. Theygreeted us as we entered the restaurant (which was noticeably CLEAN) and said their goodbyes as we exited. All in all, wethoroughly enjoyed Doda?s would recommend giving them a try. We were getting ready for the USA v. England World Cup game and wanted to do a little pizza party. We picked Doda's Pizza based... on the reviews and wanting to try something different. We got a Large Pepperoni and the XL Doda's Special Pizza (Supreme) with20 regular spicy wings. The next day there were no leftovers since everyone had this for breakfast/lunch again. Very freshingredients, the pizza sauce is very good, the dough flavor and crust was very good as well. All around very solid pizza. Thestaff was very attentive and cordial when picking up the pizza.
