Extremely expensive competent food. Good but not great. Very north shore experience. I suggest sharing appetizers as the... servings are large enough for a few people. Octopus was the best. Read more

Service was great. Food was good -Calabrian rigatoni with shrimp. Tons of shrimp, portions in general were big. But I was... disappointed with the flavor. Not bad, perfectly ok to eat, just a little flat and one note. And I was actually hoping for itto be spicier...waiter mentioned he could make it less hot and I said no. Glass of wine was nice and half price on Wednesday. Good experience I will be back to try a different dish. Read more

Valor in Glencoe is a real gem along the north shore. The menu is tight, meaning that there are only a few options, but each is... exquisite. I ordered a rye themed cocktail that was very good, but my wife ordered one with a strawberry infusion, which wasexcellent. (Note that the cocktail menu online is not the one served at the restaurant.) We ordered the Nana's Meatballsappetizer, which was the best meatballs I have tried in a long time. My wife had the scallops while I had the lamb chops with amint chutney. All excellent. For dessert, we tried the cheese cake, which was solid. The service was a little confused, asthey had just changed their process so that servers also bused tables. This led to us being ignored for some stretches of time. But our waiter was gracious and helped create an overall highly positive experience. We will be back! Read more

The service is exceptional as is the food. The popcorn cauliflower is reminiscent of the indo-chinese gobi Manchuria and very... good. The steak frites with the sirloin is a revelation - I am not one for a sauce with my steak but this wasilluminating!! The vodka martini was excellent and I tried the north shore sour but the egg white was too prominent andoverpowering so I went back to the vodka martini with nary a regret!! I can see why this is a James Beard member restaurant. Read more

You know the pictures you see on Instagram... ... Everything looked identical and tested EVEN better! I have been stalking... Valor's Instagram page for a while and finally went to visit with a few friends. It's further from where I live, but totallyworth it! We ordered a bunch of items on their menu and I have to say that all of them were amazing! We had the sticky asianribs (to die for!), the tuna tartar (so fresh!), the short-rib pasta (my friends' favourite dish - homemade pasta -hello!), thescalops (grilled to perfection) and the sea bass (amazing!). We finished with the desert, that was the best panna cotta that Ihave had in my life! The prices are very low considering the fact that everything is local and/or organic! Absolute favouritenew place! The staff was awesome and had great recommendations for us! The drinks did not disappoint - amazing cocktails! Read more
