Went there today second time for whiting platter at this location; it was not what expected very disappointed got pieces of fish... strips vs last week's whiting platter. Last week the pieces of whiting fish were well proportional in size and very tasty. Miss. Joan's candied yams were not candied yams. I ask for wheat bread got white. I stopped by for dinner based on my brother?s recommendation of a fish fry place closer to his home. The whiting fish I had... lacked seasoning. The tartar sauce did not help. Mac and cheese did not have cheese or my serving needed a lot more. I tossedhalf of the dish away. Something must be good at this place as it has descent amount of traffic. Went for lunch today and ordered the catfish platter with potato salad and fries. Didn?t get the potato salad at all. The fries... were saturated in so much grease I couldn?t eat them. Then the catfish did not taste like catfish. Actually reminded me of thetaste and texture of that fish called swai. I?m a southern girl and know how catfish should fry up and taste. I had really high hopes for this restaurant because I had heard so many rave reviews. However, I waited almost 45 minutes for my... food. When you pull up there are cars parked waiting for their food in their cars. I was looking forward to the whiting platter.The fish was ok, though I was expecting exceptional because I had heard so many good things about the fish. The mac and cheesewas bland and the cheese looked like it was barely melted. And the ONE thing I had my mouth set on all day was the seafoodsalad. When I got the salad, there was not one visible piece of seafood. Not a shrimp the first. I overall was just disappointedsince so many people had hyped it up.
