Not the best of service. A single to-go order of a BBQ sandwich took about 15 min. Not sure of the delay. The sandwich was good... and the sauce too. The okra was lacking salt and flavor. Sweet tea was great. I was greeting right away and helped shortlyafter. I visited mid afternoon and it was not busy. Overall, I think I paid to much for a basic lunch with slow service to go.$17 is a bit on the high side for a tea, chopped brisket sandwich, and small side of okra. May go back, may not. Excellent BBQ with a great Vibe. Recommend the Brisket and Ribs. Brisket and Ribs were tender, moist with just the right... amount of smoke. The sides did not disappoint either. Fantastic BBQ! My family enjoyed our lunch here. We tried the ribs, sausage, links, and sliced beef. All were tender and... flavorful. My son had a kids burger, which I tried a bite of. Wow, this was a melt in your mouth burger! A wonderful meal allaround! Read more
Fantastic! I enjoyed the generous brisket plate with potato salad, fried okra, fresh sliced onion, pickle and fresh oven... butter-baked bread. I asked for the barbecue sauce on the side. It was absolute heaven! The service, I can?t say enough aboutthe servers. They were all hustling. I had my meal in less than three minutes. I had my water and half-and-half within oneminute of the waitress taking my order. I don?t know that I?ve ever had any service like that anywhere else. If you are hungry,not only will this food satisfy you and your appetite, but you will find it remarkably fresh, delicious and very quick. Istopped there on a business trip. I will go out of my way to go through Glen Rose again to patronize this BBQ. I would sayHammond?s ranks right up there in the top 10 of BBQ joints I?ve had in Texas, no joke, just perfect! Read more
Got the mixed dinner plate and you can pick 2-3 meats to equal one pound. The brisket was tender but is missing the bark. Pork... ribs is fall off the bone and delicious and same goes with the side. Really good fried okra as it?s not salty. Read more
On your way to Marble Falls or Horseshoe Bay? Hungry? We made a yummy, quick stop without getting off of of 67! Delicious ... barbecue in a fun, Texas proud atmosphere. Had the rib plate here, and while I've definately had worse there are a couple of improvements that could be made. A couple of... the ribs were pretty dry, probably end pieces that could have stood to not be used. Also the char or smoke flavour was a bitoverpowering, I couldn't quite put my finger on it but it was almost as if I was tasting lighter fluid a bit but not sure ifthat is used here. I know there was black stuff when I wiped my hands on a napkin. The okra was great. Overall good food, willbe back to try their other meats but probably not order the ribs again. Read more
