Reviews for Edley's Bar-B-Que in Glen Carbon, IL
My first time there, the staff was very friendly and knowledgeable. Service was quick. BBQ was delicious. I had brisket, it was... tender and a very nice size portion. It did not have that liquid smoke taste some places use, thankfully. The place wastastefully decorated. And the bathrooms were super clean. Can't wait to go back. Read more

I didn?t know what to expect with the mix of good and bad reviews, but I was pleasantly surprised. The burnt ends tasted great... and the bed of grits they were served on were the biggest surprise of the meal. The grits were full of flavor and had a nicekick of heat. The mac and cheese was also very good. Like others have said the cornbread was dry and a disappointment but theother parts of the meal made up for it. The sweet tea was the perfect southern sweetness. The place is pretty big and has plentyof seating. There is also a full bar and lots of outdoor tables. The food did take a while to come out after I ordered, but Iwould say the wait was worth it. Definitely give this place a try! Read more

We came in for lunch as we hadn't been here before. I ordered the burnt ends with grits casserole and potato salad. Also got an... 8 piece walking bird hot wings. First off the burnt ends were very flavorful and very tender. I wasn?t crazy about the flavor ofthe grits casserole. and I would say it?s probably because I didn?t care for the type of cheese that is used in it. I stillfinished and enjoyed every bit of it. It just wasn?t completely my cup of tea. But I highly recommend giving it a try. I?m notusually a fan of potato salad it isn?t mustard based but their's was very good. when I ordered the walking bird wings the nicelady at the register said I?m warning you that these are fairly hot. Which is fine because I like hot stuff. And I have to sayshe was not kidding. I was pleasantly surprised with actually how spicy they were. They definitely bring the heat. And theyabsolutely pair perfectly with the white barbecue sauce. Even though there was an abundant amount of heat they also had tons offlavor and were plump and juicy. No skinny wings here. We will definitely be back to try more of the menu. Read more

Where to begin? Went with my man, and wow. I'll break it down: BBQ Fries with Chopped Brisket: Easily the best part of the... meal. Cheese was amazing. Perfect amounts of each ingredient. Brisket was not fatty or greasy. BBQ sauce was a great combo ofspicy, sweet and smoky. It's listed as a shareable appetizer, but it's extremely challenging to share. We're both only childrenso that may have had something to do with it. ???? You could get this as a main dish and be totally happy with life. HotChicken Sammich: We both got this for our entree. When I first looked at it, I thought it would be dry. I was incorrect. Chicken was juicy. Seasoned well. Slaw with pickled Jalapenos. Bread looked big, bit it wasn't overwhelming. Some sort ofsauce and/or BBQ sauce. Not too sure on that part. I was too busy eating it. Fried Pickles: We got this too, and it's the onething I didn't get a pic of. I don't have much to say about this because it's fried pickles. They all look the same. It wasvery good. Loved the seasoning. Well done. As for the joint itself, it's very atmospheric. I liked how the walls opened foran indoor/outdoor scene. It was a very warm day and breezy so that probably added to the ambiance. They have and outdoor TV. Great place to plan a work thing at. Not sure what you call that. I'm too full of brisket and chicken to think of it. Lighting was bright but not obtrusive. The drinks are self serve at the fountain. Of course there is Sweet Tea for thatauthentic Nashville experience. I really like the self serve thing. They have some serious meat going on, and you can't waitaround for drinks. Can't speak on booze because I didn't have any. Plenty of people there had some, and they seemed happyenough. All in all it was a great time and I will absolutely go back. Read more
Plenty of seating, parking, TVs, and staff. The smoked meats were flavorful while the sides were just okay for me. Corn bread... was very good. You don't get butter with it but didn't need it. Only one sauce option and it was a little too spicy forme. Speaking of staff, they were attentive, helping in any way they could, and cleaning tables as soon as last guest left. There was a little blonde girl working the floor Saturday afternoon when we were there and she was busting her butt to insureeverything was getting done. I wish I would have asked her name. Read more
