Nice place, only been here once while passing through the area and stopped based on all the other positive reviews. Staff was... friendly and food was tasty (I had the dazed and confused rice bowl). There is music playing here as one reviewer noted but Ididn't find it that loud; was able to carry on a conversation with the person at the table with me without either of us havingto raise our voice. First, I want to preface this with the fact that I gave the Wethersfield location 5 stars (Wethersfield location has moved to... main st. Newington). This location is run by unprofessionals that forget the customer should not be questioned on matters oftaste. I told them the first tacos I got were ice cold, they told me they were not 3 times, they also used assumptions and gaveme the wrong tacos. If I was wrong, then why were the reordered tacos deliberately piping hot like they should be? Also, themusic in the dining room was inappropriately loud, just like the overly tinted windowed camry that pulls up to me at the stoplight on park street in Hartford. My experience was a nightmare and I can only recommend this place to a 12-17 year old whodoesn't care how their food tastes as long as the music is loud enough to annoy everyone but them and the unprofessional workersin the kitchen. It has been some time and it hit me, I need something delicious today. Naturally I arrived here. I ordered one of my favorite... dishes ever, barely legal bowl. Sure hits the spot on a hot summer day. They also have Hosmer on tap which really adds to theappeal. Great food quality everytime I have eaten here. The service was good and the place is clean. The music was a bit loud,which I don't mind, however if you are looking for a quiet intimate place this may not be for you. If you are looking for aplace that is somewhat trendy, quality food in a fun environment this sure is the place for you. Read more

Great tacos, very good sized, 2 is enough for my fat gut. Pictured are the fun gai and the bahn mi (without jalapenos). Their... smashed avocado is also very good. They may be the one place, where you order a side of avocado, and get an actually decentamount. Wish I had tried this place sooner. Read more
We frequent El Pollo Guapo often for takeout. Fresh ingredients, great quality. The food is delicious, with layers and layers of... flavors. Menu-wise, the restaurant's primary focus is house made rotisserie chicken in tacos, bowls, salads or as an entréewith sides. Portion size is perfect. Rice Bowls are a fav, we got a Custom Almost Legal and Arroz Con Pollo bowls. Split aSpecial Brownie for dessert, you wont regret it. The staff is hard working & always friendly. The food here is very flavorful! We've gotten food from here many times. When you get take out, you walk in and there is a big... counter that you pay and get your food. We usually get Arroz Con Pollo Rice Bowl, Dazed and Confused Rice Bowl, and we gotAlmost Legal Rice Bowl. Arroz Con Pollo is very good, the chicken is tasty and so are all the flavors of the slaw, guacamole,and rice. There are also plantains in it which are yummy. You can ask for only white meat if you want. The Dazed and ConfusedBowl is good too, the Brussels sprouts and corn are nice and it's super flavorful. I visited them 3 months back. I got the tacos! I loved the interior! Loved how fast they served the order which was super fresh... and hot! It was unbelievably quick. Superior quality food! Only one staff/owner was there and very polite and friendly. I LOVEDmy overall experience and I am definitely going to go back when I?m around!
