Just had their smoked salmon taco at the Blueberry Festival. How can you take a beautiful fish and ruin it? It needed salt... and some sort of acid in the salsa. Zucchini should not have been the choice. I thought it was cabbage based slaw until Itried it. The zucchini was soggy and totally destroyed any flavor that was left from the salmon. A bar and grill with a good view of the mountains. Food was served hot with and the service was good.
Nice place to stop in during summer, a change from other places, and though limited in variety, the menu is good. Staff was... super helpful as well. Read more
When we got there they (rudely) said they had just closed the kitchen, so we only ordered a beer and waters... about 10 min... later I took my 5 year old daughter to the bathroom and my sister came in a moment after, so we exited the bathroom together anda blonde woman at the bar was very rude and said with attitude "We're actually closed, guys." my sister replied I'm sorry Ididn't hear you, what? She said louder and now sternly "WE'RE CLOSED!" I don't know what her issue was, because they hadseveral tables full and 6 people still at the bar drinking alcohol. We were on our way out already and she didn't say anythingto anyone else. Perhaps she thought we were new customers, because it was only my sister's boyfriend who actually came in to tryto order food while we waited on the deck, however we were already walking toward the exit, not trying to sit nor going towardthe bar. I have been contributing to google for years, and I rarely leave negative reviews, but this woman was ignorant andunnecessary. It's too bad we didn't get a chance to enjoy this place, my sister's boyfriend loves Sitzmark and was embarrassedafter talking it up, and saying it was one of his favorite places in the area. After skiing for a few hours, we absolutely had to stop by Sitzmark! I think this was the fastest service I've ever received at... a resort, we ordered and our food came out within 5 minutes. The waitresses were very sweet and quick to accommodate. Prices areaverage for Alaska ($7-$20). We thought the decor was very cool and added positive vibes to the indoor area. Huge space with a nice view of the Cub Quad lift. Large outdoor seating which is great on a sunny day. Beer was cold and service... was great. Art on the ceiling was really cool. The cauliflower wings (breaded cauliflower fried and dipped in wing sauce) was areally nice take on the typical dish. They were cooked just right and damn near tasted like chicken wings. Side of tots was HUGEand they were done just right. Oh.... They have Tot-chos (nachos with tots replacing the chips) which I have to try next time.Genius idea. Read more
Everything was delicious. The buffalo chicken wrap actually had enough buffalo sauce so i didnt have to ask for extra, like i do... at other restaurants. My husband enjoyed his tat-chos and my kids enjoyed their burger. We tried Sitsmark, last year, but werevery disappointed. The only reason we came back is because its very convinient to eat here (its close to the skiing area so youdont have to pack-up your gear or take off your ski boots). Just by the change of food (taste, presentation, temperature) Iwould say that something definitely changed (maybe a new chef or manager?). Now, I want to come back and would recommend toanyone. Only downside is that its super busy during lunch so you have to get there before the crowd, otherwise you'll be leftstanding (you'll have to wait for someone to leave and grab their table, before its taken, since its a self-seating restaurant). Came here for an early dinner and it wasn't crowded, so was seated right away. The large windows provided a great view of the... mountain while you eat. Since it was summer time, they were using the lifts and mountain for the bike park. It was a slowtime, so was able to seat ourselves and order at the bar. Once it's ready, they'll bring your food to the table. Ordered a fewdrinks while looking at the menu. Bar service was very friendly and prompt. For the meal, ordered the Sitz Burger and BuddhaBowl. Food came out fresh in about 15 minute. Food was pretty impressive for a bar and grill. Both were perfectly puttogether, well-plated, and tasted great. Great place to come for lunch in Alyeska. It was nice viewing the mountain over goodfood and drinks. Read more
