We were not impressed. This place doesn?t compare to Kodo (just south on Gilbert). Unfortunately Kodo is not open on Sundays so... we tried this place. Everything that came out was just meh. The nigiri was good but the rolls were just ok. We waited a reallylong time for our food also. Will not be going back. Read more

Awful! Worst Japanese food I've ever had. The gyoza were like cardboard and tasted like microwave food. My beef teriyaki was not... edible. I couldn't bite through it was so tough, no teriyaki sauce. Had to send it back and I never do that unless it's thatbad. The only bright part of this experience were the servers. They were all really nice, super understanding when I didn't likemy beef ( new chef apparently lol) and did a great job. Oh, and the place literally filled with smoke to the point my eyes werewatering but that was normal they said. We left after that. Thank goodness there's an In n Out burger just up the street. Businesses that close down between lunch and dinner are exclusive to those who operate within that window. I'd be interested to... see how they managed to stay in business, when they closed down for dine in as, for as long as they did. We all know FULL wellthat next to nobody orders raw fish to go.... you eat it fresh while it cold. Something smells fishy. Read more

I ordered to go but had a quick appetizer while I waited. The girls serving were so attentive and sweet! You don't see this... often in restaurants anymore. Very kind hearted, and providing service with a genuine smile. Joe, James, and Jason were thesushi chefs. Awesome characters! It was my first time sitting alone at the sushi bar and I will 100% come here again. The food Itook home was amazing, even after I left, pumped gas, and then got home, the miso soup was still very hot. Perfect to serve. I'mso happy this place is only a few blocks from my house. First time being there and it was delicious. We had the lollipop roll and butterfly roll and both were on point. Fresh, light... and perfect. We will definitely be coming back. Read more

Sushi is decent but I personally don't like it too much. The owners and employees are super friendly, I'll give them that. I... think the most enjoyable was the pot stickers. The rolls have a bit too many sesame seeds and the cucumber was mostly peel whichwas kinda gross. My fiance had the spicy tuna and it made her sick with how fishy it was. I was a little disappointed seeingsushi was in the name of the restaurant. There's a huge sushi market in this area and unfortunately you can get much betterelsewhere. (Presentation remade by myself after ordering takeout seen in photo) Read more

Let me start out by saying that I tried to eat at this restaurant yesterday. I showed up at 8:45 and nobody was there. It was... closed even though it clearly shows they were open till 9:30. This is frustrating, but I thought I would give them a secondchance. The restaurant is small inside seating about 40 at tables and about 12 at the bar. When I walked in I had multipleemployees look over at me, not one said anything. I sat there uncomfortably waiting for someone to greet and seat me. It tooka minute or two, but I was finally seated. The restaurant seemed clean although the walls could use a coat of paint. Afterbeing seated I was handed a erasable menu and a drink was offered. Unfortunately the waitress was very timid and didn't explainthat it was reverse happy hour and didn't mention the 3 roll combo to me. I figured it out, but restaurants should always askif it is your first time and explain the intricacies of their restaurant. I order 3 rolls. The Crunch roll Tootsy roll and theCrazy Shrimp roll. The Crunch roll and Tootsy we're okay. For the price the were good. The Crazy Shrimp roll was by far thebest roll, although the most expensive as well. My meal came to $25, which was a decent price (although two of the rolls werecheaper because of the reverse happy hour). Was this the best sushi I have had?? No, but overall I was full and happy so Iwould recommend giving them a try. If they would engage with the customers a little better and give the walls a new coat ofpaint it would make this restaurant shine. Read more
