Mashed potatoes and Mac n cheese were 5 out of 5. Country fried steak, hash brown casserole and burger were okay. Service was... great tho. Corn bread and biscuits were yummy! Read more

First time here and I'm reminded of cafeterias from years gone by. Food was obviously not prepared fresh as it came to the... table within 5 minutes of ordering. No flavor, no texture, white gravy on the chicken fried steak was congealed and lumpy andnow my wife's stomach hurts. Pretty disappointed. Read more

Cracker Barrel is a southern cooking, chain restaurant with comfort food, well-trained staff, homestyle, country decor and a... gift shop. The goal is to harken the guest back to an old style, down home experience and meal. This is done with everythingfrom the huge porch with a dozen rocking chairs out front, the nostalgia shop as your enter the restaurant to the wood furnitureand wood peg games on each table. The food is predictably southern style American fare eith country fried steak, dumplings andbutter biscuits headlining the menu. The staff is alwayd kind and presents that southern hospitality vibe throughout. My visitto this relatively new location on Higley and I-60 freeway was not my first. I have been here a few times and I appreciate theircustomer service has not dropped off, even with the staffing difficulties of the post Covid-19 world. Today, I had the southernfried chicken meal with steak fries and green beans, and of course a healthy number of their biscuits doused with butter. For mymeal, I didn't enjoy the excessive amount of battered covering on the fried chicken. I love fried chicken but the amount ofcoating was way too much for me. That said, the taste was good, but I could only eat half of the four chicken pieces along withthe sides. I gotta say, I love comfort food and it's hard to beat their buttermilk biscuits. My wife ordered breakfast fordinner, going with the french toast and sausage patties. The french toast was good, though the sausage was not a good experience(seemed oddly unflavorful and an overly processed texture). The staff was stellar and kind, always aware and efficient. Whilewe had parts of the food that weren't a good experience this visit, we will return to other entrées next time. Read more

I had been at the other location on Dobson and the chicken ND dumplings were so good I got an extra order to take home for... another day. Today I ordered the same here and it looked like mashed potatoes not dumplings I ordered carrots but somehow I hadgreen beans hidden under my dumplings.. I wanted to add a side salad instead of veggies yet was a 1.99 up charge. The salad wasmore croutons my tomatoes were wrinkled up hidden Under the salad. Not a very good presentation. The waitress was very goodand quick with anything you ask for. The best part of Mt meal was the taffy I purchased on my way out! A friend had said Iwould be disappointed eating here and she was right again! Read more

I used to work at Cracker Barrel 10 years ago, and this is the first time I?ve been back. Only a couple things are different,... but for the most part, everything is still same ole and I love that. The cornbread is my favorite! We came 3/26/22 at 5pm,Nicholas was our server, and he was very kind and efficient. Thanks! We ordered a grilled chicken salad, the special; countryfried pork chops. We also had an appetizer of loaded tater tots. I couldn?t believe how quick the service was? we got our foodprobably 10 minutes or less after ordering. The only complaint I have is that I wish they used better salad, like romaine. Also, the dumplins weren?t fresh. I understand this because people outside of the south don?t order them often so I?m sure itjust sits there keeping warm, but they were a little disintegrated. Read more

Southern comfort food done alright with some unique offerings and a fun environment. We like the entrance store probably more... than we should, it is maybe better than the food. Fish Fry Friday was pretty good, good crisp and tasty bites. The cheesy potatocasserole is always a favorite but can be dry sometimes. Green beans are delicious and they do mac n cheese well. Meatloaf isjust one of those foods that brings back memories, it's a good place to get that fix, be sure to get your side of catchup. Thegrits were watery and hard to eat. Biscuits and gravy are satisfying and cooked apple as are a nice sweet treat to the meal.Very affordable, we usually reserve it for traveling. Read more

Had to wait over an hour and a half after they lost our name on the list twice. The food was cold. The only bright side was the... server was excellent, can't say the same about the hostess. Read more
