This place was pretty darn good. I had 4 Texas Weiners (mustard, onion, chili sauce). I also had fries. The fries were very... good. The dogs were good as well, the onions were the most I've ever had on a hot dog, the chili was decent, but I felt like thechili could have had more spice in it. I'm from a place in New Jersey where there's 6 or 7 Texas Weiner places around (greekstyle chili), and if you drive to northern New Jersey a Texas Weiner is really just regular chili. We stopped today for a quick bite. We heard so much about it. It was early so we went light. Wife had a dippy and toast, I had a... chili dog with everything. The onions I want to say were pressed. Which made them have that good bitter taste. Maybe I'm crazy.It was an awesome hotdog and I should have had 2. I'm still tasting the onions but I'd do it over again. As Native Texans this restaurant caught our eye and did not disappoint! Ernie?s is clean as a whistle and served delicious food.... My son dared to say Ernie?s chili (which he got on a hot dog) is better than mine! We especially enjoyed the humorous signs onthe wall and the photo displays showing us who?s who in the family. We will absolutely return on our next trip to Gettysburg! Read more
This was a delightful experience! Love the humor and cozy, home town feel of the place. We came here in early october and were... served in less than ten minutes. The food was delicious, crispy hot chilli cheese fries and perfectly cooked burgers. (I took abite out of mine before I remembered the picture. Sorry!) Read more
My first time ever to eat at this restaurant was today I got two specials one from my mom and one for myself and we both agreed... at this food is not even permissible for human consumption we took a few bites and through the entire order away.
