Food was ok. Our waitress took our drink order immediately, then gave us a few LONNNNGG minutes to peruse the menu. FINALLY she... came back and took our orders. My husband wanted the red beans and rice and had to get up and ask what kind of sausage came withit and no one knew! I ordered the country fried steak sandwich. It was not seasoned. Had one little dollop of mayo and a CHUNKof tomato. You know when you're slicing a whole tomato and that first slice and the last are mostly the skin? Well, mine was thefirst slice, you know the one that goes into the compost pile? My son ordered a deluxe burger which he thought was pretty good.Our waitress came back a couple of times to ask how we were, but never asked if any of us needed drink refills. An unassuming little spot in Germantown that you would easily pass by without noticing. Been here forever and today?s traveling... brought me by for dinner. I?ve had breakfast here before (it?s breakfast anytime btw) but I had been waiting for a while tocatch an evening meal. Selected the Shrimp Po-Boy and it was made like you?d expect a Memphis bbq. That?s more meat than thebun will hold. Topped that off with some coconut pie. I?m sure Jethro Gibbs would eat here if he was in town. Just his place. Read more
My wife and I stopped here for a late lunch, I had the Philly cheese steak and my wife a turkey sandwich. I was absolutely... amazed by the cheese steak, probably one of the best I've ever had. It contained we'll seasoned steak, gooey cheese, and justthe right crunch to the bun. Our server was friendly and competent enough, food was served in a fairly good time, and theprices were decent. Worth the wait. Food was served hot and it was good. I had just a traditional breakfast : eggs, Bacon, hot cakes..sooo good.
This was my first time eating at this establishment. The food was delicious and my waitress was excellent! The cheese grits were... delicious! My whole experience was good until I paid my check! I didn?t like the way that my debit card and receipt was thrownto me instead of being handed to me. The cashier?s interaction was totally different with the white patrons than with me. Read more
I have never left a restaurant so frustrated and angry. We were there late morning before the lunch rush. I only give this diner... a one star because most of my veggies were actually good. The 4th, turnip greens were too salty to eat. When I asked thewaitress to please remove that charge from my ticket, she scratched it off and walked off with NOTHING! No apology, nosubstitution, NO RESPONSE. WE were never asked for a refill or checked on after the food arrived. WE felt rushed to order andlike we were holding up the waitress. When we paid the bill, I asked the older lady to please remove the 4th veggie charge. Shesaid "YOU DIDN'T LIKE THE TURNIP GREENS??" I explained that they were just too salty for my taste. I paid the bill, left a tip (however they deserved nothing, just like the customer service I received) I then told the older lady cashier " THANK YOU". Shenever looked up, responded, said they were sorry, no "thank you".......nothing! I am very disappointed in the customer servicewe received, after I have heard only good things about this establishment. Needless to say, we will not be coming back!!Customer service was the worst! Prices were ok. Our waitress was brief with us could of interacted and check on us and when she did she was so quick she warmed... up our coffee and not asking or remembering I was drinking decaf poured me regular coffee. No big deal I just would of preferredshe ask us if we needed anything or if we wanted a warm up. Nice little place to eat though. The gravy from biscuits n gravytaste just like McDonald's gravy. Small diner in Germantown with good food and quick service. Don't miss the counter area in case the wait is too long for you. ... Staff is friendly and efficient. Menu has a nice variety for whatever you're in the mood for. Parking lot is directional, so becareful when you come in and leave to go the right way down the aisles of parked cars! Read more
