I needed a meal for a celebration of life service and I take pride in hiring local every chance I can. Al had just had surgery... but still took care of us. This is a family run business, his granddaughter and grandson worked their butts off while Al wasrecovering. This is exactly the kind of business I grew up with and was looking for, I'm so so so glad to have found this gem!The food was absolutely yummy and reminded me of home. Food was horrible. Meat was dry and overcooked. Potato salad was disgusting.
Excellent tasting brisket with a perfect smoke ring!! Just the right amount of BBQ sauce on the sandwich too. The collard... greens were nicely seasoned and delicious. I want to try the fried cabbage next time! Another customer suggested trying thebanana pudding and it was very satisfying. Staff was very friendly; prices were good. Looking for the best BBQ in Georgetown? Keep on trucking mama. First we went in and sat in a booth. The only other customer was... waiting for a takeout order. After a long time a guy came out of the back with the takeout order and noticed us waiting. He tookour order. We wanted #3 under the Family pack. He explained that it was only a single serving and not a family sized one. Thebrisket, chicken and ribs were so dry it took a lot of BBQ sauce to make them palatable. My dining companion said that Rudy?spulled pork was better. The sides seemed sour and not tasty. The yam was the best thing on the plate. In a state where BBQ isking, Sweeties is a pawn. Pretty good brisket sandwich. The potato salad felt unremarkable and the location has nowhere to eat. Its not a bad spot to grab... a bite to go but I would recommend calling ahead. The few times I have gone there they always seem to have staffing issues andthe wait can be quite long. Read more
It?s a cute little restaurant and the food is actually very flavorful. However, the service I received today was terrible at... best. To start my brisket sandwich came out cold. The waiter was nice enough to take it back to the kitchen. THEY LITERALLY TOOKTHE MEAT OFF AND REHEATED IT AND PUT IT BACK ON THE SAME BUN!! This not only happened to my sandwich but to the other guest withme as well. Let?s not forget when my aye was returned to me I found a hair in my side of potato salad. We will definitely notbe back.
