As you driving in you can tell ?El Monumento?isn?t ordinarily Mexican place. Architectural building and outdoor sitting is... fabulous, everything was planned and designed with elegant taste . It feel like you are somewhere in desert with sizzlingtemperature outside and prickly pears cactuses. Service is great and our waiter Will was very helpful. There are alsoVegetarian , Vegan And Gluten Free Option. Food was great as well as ?El Monumento ? gluten-free pie. Read more

I decided to come to Texas to visit two very dear friends of mine and they suggested this restaurant they're regulars at to have... a good Mexican meal. To our dismay we had an awful experience dining here and had to cut it short. Before sitting to eat we hadasked the hostess ahead of time if it was okay to sit on the patio with 2 service dogs. She said it was okay and sat us outside.A few minutes later a server came up to clarify and ask that the dogs were indeed service animals otherwise we'd have to leaveand we confirmed they were. Then lastly we were approached by the general manager who came up to our table in the worst behaviorout of everyone. She immediately spoke to us in a very rude manner and harshly said we have to leave immediately because of ourdogs - after we had already ordered 3 drinks and just gotten our appetizers. We were very taken aback at her demeanor when shecame up to us because there was no apology for the miscommunication, or spending $58 on food and drinks just to be kicked out,and wasting our time dining there for 30 minutes already and now needing to go drive somewhere else to have a proper meal. Wehad tried communicating with her how disruptive this was to our plans after multiple members of her staff had expressed the dogswere okay being there, but she wouldn't allow us a chance to speak and just talked over us stating that it didn't matter whatany of the employees say and it is up to her. We still had our full drinks and asked if at least we could finish those firstand wait for our food to be boxed to go, but she refused and said we had to exit the premises immediately with our dogs there.Keep in mind, I never go out of my way to leave negative reviews but this encounter was such an awful experience that I wantedfuture customers to be aware of the treatment from the management here, because I personally wouldn't want to support a companythat doesn't care for their guests like we experienced. P.S. As we exited the restaur Read more

You can't beat the view from their outdoor seating area. Just gorgeous. The food, service and affordable prices were also a... plus. If you like coffee, try their French pressed one: very good. Read more

We visited El Monumento in Georgetown TX. This is a Tex Mex scratch kitchen that is related to Monument Cafe, also located in... Georgetown. Everything was made by scratch. Which just added to the flavor. The restaurant opens at 3pm, so you can start witha late lunch or early dinner. The seating includes both booths and freestanding tables, all with cushioned chairs. There is alsooutdoor seating available that overlooks the San Gabriel River Park that leads to the famous Blue Hole in downtown Georgetown. We started our meal with appetizers and wound up remaining with nachos for the meal that we shared because we were already sofull. However. We just had to get their dessert special. All of the food was delicious. Service was great. While you can makereservations, you can also walk in. This is a great place for any meal at any time, bit also has a great ambience for a specialdinner such as a celebration or a date night. Read more

One of the best Mexican restaurants in central Texas is hidden in Georgetown and nestled just over the San Gabriel River. The... beautiful view is equaled by the food, drinks, service and design. My measure of a great Mexican restaurant is chili rellenoand El Monumento does not disappoint. More Mexican than tex mex, every nuance of flavor and texture elevates my favoriteMexican dish above most standards. While I usually prefer a margarita on the rocks, their frozen made from ice shaved by hand isnot to be missed. Read more

In my opinion, The food is very good, flavorful, and tasty but is a blend of Mexican with a touch of Texan flavors. We been here... a couple of times, the employees are very polite, welcoming and knowledgeable. Definitely is one of our favorites places to havelunch or dinner. Read more
