We had an amazing experience having our wedding at the Colonial Hotel. Mary was incredible in assisting to set up our big day.... She was organized, responsive and patient with our many questions. On the day of, she was very attentive and helpful to both usand our guests. Everything ran as smoothly as possible and everyone had a blast. The staff was extremely helpful and extremely polite. The hotel is absolutely gorgeous this is the first time I had stayed here... about 35 years and the upgrades to the exterior and interior were phenomenal. Being that I was in a wheelchair during my staythe handicapped rooms could have been little bit more roomy in order to move my wheelchair around. The television left a lot tobe desired as there was limited selection of channels and the channels USA and FX had video with audio that went to anotherchannel. Spent one night and honestly the kids had a blast, all of the staff were extremely friendly, kind, and accommodating!! Our room... was clean and the pool room and bathrooms there, were both very cleaned! I was even allowed to check in a few hours earlier asthe room was already available so it?s awesome they do that for their customers when they are able to (this depends on how busythey are). Def 5 stars from me, I had a great time!! And we will be back hopefully before school starts! Read more
If I could give this hotel zero stars I would. Attempting to stay here was the worst experience I?ve ever encountered at a... hotel. Our entire wedding party booked here and when we arrived to check in we were told that they ?didn?t realize theyoverbooked? and that we no longer had a room there that we booked weeks in advance. We had to stay at their sister hotel awayfrom our entire wedding party and we received the most mediocre customer service when this whole thing came about. We ended upmissing the wedding after party that we traveled out of state to attend. This place seems to bank on the fact that they are theonly hotel in this vicinity - but do yourself a favor, save the headache and drive the extra 25 minutes and stay somewhere else. Read more
Nightmare. No alcohol from the outside is allowed? They double booked my room and refused to cancel the second room. Told me I... ?forgot? about the other reservation, and made another one. Extremely insulting. The staff were rude and unhelpful. Spoke to amanager and similarly she did nothing, blaming me, the guest, for the mistake. Also the couple who got married said their roomREAKED of smoke. They called the front desk to complain, and ?nothing could be done?. At check out, couldn?t even find bothreservations so they gave me one receipt with one room charged even though they were insistent I booked two rooms. Didn?t matterbecause I was still charged for both. Emailed the GM regarding my situation and the service of the hotel and got noreply. Spare yourself the trouble, go somewhere else. Read more
Very nice hotel. Better than average gym. Forbid you from having your own alcoholic beverages in your room and don?t provide... coffee, except for the typical in room coffee. You could get a Kuerig for $2 :). Beds were comfortable, rooms were nice.Restaurant and bar are spacious and staff are friendly. Clam chowder was brilliant, the steak - I would pass on the next time Igo back. Read more
Beautiful rooms, but #141 needs painting/rust removal maintenance from leak in bathroom ceiling. Bathrooms have no exhaust fan... making it miserable to do hair/makeup after a shower. Easy check-in/out. Grounds were lovely. Good outdoor spaces to sit wcoffee both in shade & sun. Location was well marked with easy access & plenty of parking. Sadly, breakfast buffet was a hugedisappointment. You pay upon entry $16/person as it's not included in your $200+ room fee. ???? Service was wonderful, buttttthe food was sadly disappointing. BAD coffee served in miniscule cups, scrambled eggs were clearly not real eggs-avoid!Breakfast sausage, bacon and cut fruit were the only edible items. I chose not to try the pre-packaged danish. Texted the restof our party and told them to go elsewhere. Maintenance needs and buffet to avoid=4 stars. All in all, I would stay here againand eat elsewhere. Read more
I cannot say enough about how PERFECT our wedding day and weekend was! I got so many compliments from guests on how amazing the... Colonial Hotel is. Great Service, beautiful hotel in general, and the food WAS DELICIOUS. All of the little details wereconsidered. Mary is THE BEST! She and the team, especially Cahlee and Stephanie, were truly caring and understood how importantthe day was to me and I'm so grateful to them as I don't look back on anything and wish it had been done differently. Seriously,perfect. Everything I envisioned, Mary made it happen with the help of everyone at the Colonial Hotel. The rehearsal dinner wasalso amazing. Every server was spectacular, especially Sam and Beth. Again, the food was beyond delicious. Everyone agreed. Icould cry at how thankful I am that a day I planned for years, with so much pressure surrounded by it, was cared about byeveryone at the hotel as much as I cared about it. They even took everything back to my room and set up all of my flowersbeautifully in the room to enjoy! The little things made a huge difference! WE WILL CHERISH THESE MEMORIES FOREVER! Read more
