I had a fantastic classic experience! My friend and I came for a 9:30 breakfast and it was already booming with friendly people.... I ordered the A1 Big Breakfast and, being truthfully honest, each bite was phenomenal. The eggs, bacon, sausage and pancake hadexceeded my expectations. The style of the floating restaurant brought us back to the 1900s with its decor and appliances. Wehad great service from the waitresses; they truly are hard, deserving workers. Hopefully this review is helpful to searchingeaters, because we'll be coming back again for more! Read more

On a road trip we sought out a great diner on the way home. Found A1 as a suggestion. Let's give it a try. Stopped there, saw... the authentic original look - inside and out. So unassuming... truly vintage. Original fixtures, like stepping back in time tothe 1940s. Once our rolls arrived - I knew exactly what was coming next. I haven't had this kind of food for nearly 30 years! These are close to what my Great Grandmother made!!! The experience took me back in the best way possible. Every bite was packedwith the kind of care + authenticity that I would have expected at a family meal at my Great Grandmother's place. Totally nextlevel of meal - and completely unexpected. Simplicity, with a very authentic American taste that is just rare today. No diner Ihave been to in decades compares to A1. I wish they were closer to home. I'd be a regular. So. I could write a couple pages onthe nuances of how their food was great. But, pictures. There's pictures. The pictures speak. This food is a trip back in time.Eat here. Enjoy. Sadly, I didn't get pics of the deserts. They were equally ethereal in quality. I wanted pictures of thedeserts - but, was entranced by the experience I was having. It was a step back to my childhood. Seriously, I haven't had thiskind of experience in having a meal literally ever. So glad I've stopped here. Brought back really great memories. Read more

Love this place! Got the Reuben, love that they use horseradish sauce on it instead of the usual thousand island. Bbq pork tacos... were next level good. The fries are excellent. If you want to try something different that no one else offers, try the Hungarianmushroom soup, OMG so good. Read more
