Great food, friendly staff, very reasonably priced.

Im only giving 4 ???? because I personally haven't tried them,& their hours are not ideal for me lol but I've been going here... for years for the pierogie lovers in my family for ever these are their favorite we even ship them out to Florida relatives that had them while here and now it's a package they Wait for every year !! A shadow of its former self. The pierogis are totally lacking in flavor, specifically salt is MIA, the dough is too thick and... ho-hum, and some varieties are nearly missing ingredients (I couldn?t taste any cottage cheese or garlic). I had purchased fromhere about a decade ago and then it was nothing like this but it was totally oozing with flavor. The Jolly Inn in Chicago, whatI currently consider the gold standard for Polish food in the Midwest, serves up much more flavorful food for less and has notlost their quality. In Jennie?s current woeful state, even supermarket mass-produced Mrs. T?s tastes better than this. Michiganrestaurant Krzyslak House which has dropped a bit quality in more recent years serves up pierogis way better than this. As itstands, I will not be returning to Jennie?s for a long time considering the outrageous pricing and the terrible foodquality. As to the positive reviews, I have an observation and then some advice. First, the observation: a common thread amongthe positive reviews is the pierogis are being fried up, salted, peppered, and flavored up after the fact. Any properly preparedpierogis need zero special treatment and should taste good without any spicing or accompaniments. Second, some advice,specifically to the positive reviewers: I know everyone wants to save our local businesses. I agree! But you are not helping thecommunity or our local businesses by just indiscriminately showering them with positive reviews. You inspire greatness byrewarding greatness in the community, never by handing out participation trophies right and left to every local business becausethat just encourages mediocrity. Positive reviews must be earned with quality goods and services and that creates organicpositive reviews from everyone. But what you are doing has the totally opposite effect. Just had jennies perogies in garden city for the first time and they were awesome we had few for lunch, we had the Potato... cheddar and sauerkraut and they were delicious. The lady that worked the counter and took my order said you'll be back andwelcome to the family, she is right I will definitely be back and I'm driving from willis and happy to be a jennies perogiesfamily member now lol. Very good pierogis! Had the bacon potato pierogi. Fried in a bit of butter at home with some salt and pepper. Best I've had!
