Menu for The Blackwall Barn & Lodge in Gambrills, MD

I have been here three times now. The food is very good here and I love the decor and atmosphere. But a meal for two can be very... expensive and we have waited a long time each time we have visited, and once we even had a reservation. One time they were outof the prime rib, and another time we had our order messed up. We've had to wait a while for our food as well. If they can workout some of their service and management kinks, they would get higher marks. Read more

I truly am ???? satisfied of the dinner I hosted in The Blackwall Lodge.... The event coordinator Lara was fantastic, the room... was gorgeous, very private, we even had our own bathroom... Went to country brunch buffet today! Fantastic! Choice of mimosas, beautiful atmosphere, and food was delicious! We... especially loved omelets, roast beef, ham, cocktail shrimp, and fried chicken and waffles. Salad was also delicious as weredonuts and muffins. It is pricey! But we will be back most definitely. I have been here several times and been very happy each time. Tonight I went there for prime rib night with my sister and her... husband. They were visiting me from Florida and I’ve raved about it so much, they couldn’t wait to try it ! Our server thisevening was Drew, and he was AMAZING !! Very professional, knowledgeable, friendly and easily handled my sisters gluten freerequest. My sister and her husband couldn’t stop raving about everything ! The food, the service, and the ambiance. Had a fantastic dinner at Blackwall recently. Everything from the atmosphere and decor, to the service, the food, the drinks,... just really perfect. Our party ordered a few different drinks from their specialty drinks menu - every one was perfectlybalanced and delicious. We had pot roast and chicken with Brussels sprouts. Ate every bite! I’m still thinking about thosesprouts... We skipped dessert, but had Irish Coffee which was a perfect end to the meal. Prices are reasonable considering thelevel of service and food you’re getting. We loved the ambiance of the fireplace - next time, we want to sit right at thefireside in the big comfy chairs. Only (small) negative, it was a bit noisy when the restaurant was full. But as it got laterand the place emptied out a bit, that improved. Overall, it was a truly wonderful dinner and I can’t wait to go back. Read more
