Took my wife here today for a birthday dinner and it was amazing, we order so much food it was kind of funny, however we did eat... it all Quick service and we were glad we made reservations because it was busy. All the staff were pleasant and attentive. Wewill be back for sure. Read more
I?ve been wanting to find a yummy sushi place here in Galveston, I?ve had good experiences at a few, but today, my socks were... knocked off. Yamato is officially my Galveston sushi recommendation. I had a roll of sushi that couldn?t have been better aswell as steak and scallops. The steak was cooked to perfection, and very juicy, the scallops were so decadent, I can?t think ofa time I?ve had such good scallops. Came in without a reservation, so had to wait around for about 40 minutes. Finally got seated and ordered 4 sushi rolls; took... quite a while, then they only brought half of our food. Our third roll came after a long wait, and then they tried to tell usthat we already got our fourth roll. We finally got our last roll after another good wait. The only reason they get two stars isthat the sushi was decent, albeit on the small side. You'll be better off finding another place for sushi or hibachi. Read more
First time here & overall it wasn't bad. We usually got to Sky Bar for half the price but thought we'd try a different place.... Waitress was attentive enough, answered the few questions we had. Glad we got there when we did, we got a booth, then the placefilled up quickly. Presentation of sushi & rolls was nice, drinks kept full, empty plates cleared, & food was delicious. Read more

I only ordered their cold appetizers and they were the best I?ve eaten! The jalapeño pesto snapper a seasonal special was... superb. So many flavors with every bite. The fish was fresh and delicious. The spicy tuna tartare was actually spicy yum. Therice had a smoky flavor. The yuzu salmon was simple in its taste but what a dish. Citrusy spicy, fresh salmon. Very happy withmy appetizers. The lychee sake was a delight too! The hibachi show was a success too but the stir fry food was just ok, a littlebland. The show is fun though! Would not hesitate to return! Read more
