Reviews for Nick's Kitchen and Beach Bar in Galveston, TX
Was able to go early and was seated right away. Really Good table service. The waiter checked on us at least four times... throughout the meal. Great food and expect large portions (none of us cleaned our plates) . Overall a really great meal andwould come back again Read more
We didn't wait to be seated but it did take a while for them to get our drink orders. We had a wheelchair and they put us... somewhere weird. The bus boy dropped his bin on the floor and almost gave my 82 year old grandma a heart attack. He didapologize so i guess. The food was good but they're getting away with high prices because it's on seawall. Nothing special here. Read more
There was a tonne of staff but service was so-so. The food was average, the calamari over cooked and rubbery. There are much... better SPOTs on the seawall for seafood. Likely won?t be back. Read more
The only reason I am giving this place two stars is because of the outside seating and our waiter Alex. Be prepared to wait, and... then wait some more. We came for my daughter's birthday. She ordered Top Sirloin and I ordered a Nick's Club Sandwich, and myman ordered a pulled pork sandwich and we ordered a Calamari appetizer. After 5 minutes or so Alex came back and said they wereout of steak. So we ordered chicken fried steak as a replacement. Then 10 more minutes came and went and he came back sayingthey were out of the club sandwich. In retrospect I should have asked which part of the club they were out of. So I ended upnot eating a main course, out of frustration. Calamari came and was rubbery , my daughter enjoyed the chicken fried steak.Pulled pork was overcooked, dry and ends were burnt...still sitting whole in a to go box because it was not worth eating. Satfor about 30-40 more minutes waiting on my daughter's birthday dessert...which really made her day so that's why they get thetwo stars along with Alex that tried his best. We should have gone to Gaido's next door, but did enjoy the view of the ocean. This place is for the bird's.. literally, they seemed to enjoy it. Read more
Stopped in at the Redfish Pool Bar (patio section of the restaurant). Had the shrimp tacos and fried calamari (served with... marinara), and a couple Miller Lites. Patio area was nice, plenty of shade, but the pool and hot tub are shared with the hotel.Nice pool with a waterfall, cute fish shaped hot tub that the kids like to use, lots of foam when we were there. One kid helpedhimself to a garden hose maintenance was using in the pool. Food was ok. The two of us each had 2 domestic beer (4 total), weshared the calamari, both of us had a shrimp taco plate with fries. Total was about $80. Seems like the pool bar is aconvenience option for hotel guests. Good view of the beach, very laid back atmosphere. Not a bad option for guests of thehotel. Read more
Worse sunburn of my life, but if I could go back and do it all again I would in a heart beat. The happy hour food menu is... fantastic, the drinks are great, the bar tenders are friendly and the pool is amazing. Love the views!!! Have never met anyonethere that was anything but friendly and having the time of their lives, including the staff!! Read more
Great location and outdoor setting! Pigeons may be considered both cute and annoying. They did not bother us when we were eating... but they did fly and walk around to attract attention. The food tastes great. Staff friendly and helpful. Read more
It where we were headed but where we ended up. VERY easy access for the handicapped person in our party. The fish platter,... calamari and southwest salad were delish. The fried oysters were a little on the overdone side but still very good. Try theirnew Paloma?a nice twist on one of my favorites. And the apricot tea?fabulous! Read more
