Reviews for Taste in Gainesville, FL
Love it. We love the food. Can't wait to try something else next time.
Disclaimer: I have never been to Vietnam and have no idea what is 'authentic' Vietnamese cuisine. This is an Asian fusion place... serving primarily Vietnamese style dishes plus Sushi. The food was wholesome and the portions adequate. But I didn'tparticularly like it. I had 'from the wok' with noodle bowl. Bean sprouts tasted a lot better than they looked (brown around theends). I ordered it with the ginger sauce. NO detectable ginger taste. What looked like and IMO should have been sliced gingerturned out to be carrot. Noodles: some stuck together in large globs, the rest pretty oily, having absorbed a lot of the nonginger flavored sauce. They did successfully honor my request for no cucumbers. Beef was in pieces too large for a single biteand thus larger than I would have liked for eating with chopsticks. Beef was pretty tough. No particular taste to it. Containsfried onions (..?..). What I thought was and should have been IMO mint leaves turned out to be cilantro (yuck). Spring rollswere obviously never frozen, probably made on site, cooked nicely, not mushy inside like frozen, contains what to me was sort ofweird tasting ground chicken mixture. Egg roll sauce mediocre. My partner says the Thai shrimp soup item was just ok. Smallerportion. Very pleasant and moderately attentive server. They seemed willing to modify the dishes on this slow afternoon if onlya person knew what to ask for. Patio seating available. Patio looks pretty accessible for wheelchairs if you can get over theparking lot curb. Don't know about inside. Read more

Lunchtime on a Friday and even though it was getting busy, the service was still excellent. We had ordered from the grill- short... ribs noodle bowl with spring rolls, from the wok- salmon rice platter with soup, salad and spring rolls, and crispy eggplant asappetizer. The servings of the food was great. Both of us had left overs for dinner and lunch the next day. They offer avariety so there's plenty to try out for our next visit. An absolute must if you're in the Gainesville area. Read more
It may be a little pricey, but as the name implies, every dish I have had there has been very tasty. Sushi, curry, pho,... noodles. All very good. Personal favorite is the drunken noodles. My wife love the yellow curry. But we mostly get sushi. Read more

Oh my gosh we LOVED this place. My wife and I tried this place for the first time yesterday, and we were completely blown away... by how great it was! The spring rolls were awesome. My wife loves sushi but she got a noodle bowl instead and she was in heaven. The amount of food they give you for the price is unreal. We are still eating on the leftovers. Note: the food tastes evenbetter the next day. We will DEFINITELY come back and we want to try different dishes. So, I just want to say, I don't rememberour waitress's name, but she was a young, tall, skinny red head and absolutely friendly and adorable. She helped make my wifeand I have such a wonderful date night. Read more
