I was pretty impressed at my first visit. The tacos were amazing with well seasoned and generous protein portion. Cooked onions... was a plus. The hype was real. But then there was >1 hour wait when I went back the second time so I decided to take out fromsomewhere else. At my most recent visit, the wait time was about 30-40 minutes but the tacos were not the same as before. Themeat was cooked too long, burnt, so it had no flavor. Scant raw onions and cilantro. The horchata was ok. My dad?s quesadillawas nothing special and bland. He purchased an instant coffee from their grocery which was overpriced. I left feeling rippedoff: $20 for 3 tacos and a horchata. Small narrow parking lot in the back. Customer service is ok. I?m not sure if I?ll be back. Read more

This place is always a great experience. The price for the food for the portion you get is fantastic and the quality is not only... consistent but it is consistently great! I have never had a bad dish or experience here. Be it eat in or take home. A cutelittle bonus is the back grocery store they have. They are also super realistic about wait time/pick up time. Obviously becausethis is a gem lunch hour is always swamped but everything is still put out in great timing. I have never waited more than 20minutes for food even when packed. My family and I have been going to this place since we moved 7 years ago. Do yourself a favorand eat here, and definitely work your way across the menu you wont be disappointed. Read more
I went to La Tienda this weekend, and had a great experience as per usual. This local latin restaurant is always clean, the... atmosphere fits the fun latin flare, but is relaxed enough to stop by just for a quick bite to eat and the staff are alwaysfriendly. I went with my friend and we always have to get an order of chips and salsa to share because the salsa ingredientsare so fresh, and the chips always come out hot and crispy. By far our favorite salsa in Gainesville. My favorite recommendationis the pollo tacos, I order them each time I come and I am always satisfied. You get three corn tortillas, piled high withpulled chicken, onions and cilantro toppings. So delicious and filling. I recommend La Tienda to anyone coming to Gainesvillelooking for the perfect place to eat for lunch or dinner, if you want the fun casual dining experience of a local restaurant inyour favorite college town. I wish I lived closer to try all their menu items. I had carnitas tacos and the pork was very well marinated, not too greasy and... the portion was generous. Very authentic feel to the restaurant. It's a mexican store extended with plenty of tables indoors andaround the wraparound porch of the restaurant. Amazing food and great place to relax and have a beer on any given day! Read more
La Tienda its just the perfect place if you want to eat real authentic mexican food. We started off with a trio of Guacamole,... Queso Fundido, and Salsa. We ordered 6 Tacos and the Birra Tacos were the best by far. The Camarones a la Diabla were also veryrich in flavor. However, the reason for the 4 starts is due to the slow service, the kitchen to table execution could have beenmuch better. Overall, amazing food. Read more
