I am not a banh mi person so I can?t compare. But as a sandwich expert, the Saigon Special Grilled Pork was SO tasty! Cucumber... was so fresh, pork sauce was so tasty and the bread unbelievably fresh! Hubby?s bbq chicken was was also excellent. We will beback. Just wish the whole restaurant was cleaner! Read more

I went to Crispy Baguette recently and throughly enjoyed my experience. The server is very friendly and even offered... suggestions. The overall atmosphere had a cozy ambiance with the lights around the wall and the warm tones. The food itself wasone of the best Vietnamese-based foods I've tried - the banh mi and Bang Bang Chicken was one of the best. The food is madeimmediately after ordering and offered fresh and piping hot within 10-15 minutes. I would definitely come here again! Read more

I hate giving bad reviews, but the banh mi from here is just awful, especially given the price. I don?t know why I expected a... good banh mi from midtown but I learned my lesson. I came here at around 4 p.m and ordered a banh mi, so not even middle of thenight or anything. It came out to $10 for one 8-inch banh mi which is already extremely expensive, given that they traditionallyfetch $5-$7 a piece. When I actually received the banh mi it was just not good. There was no contrast of textures and flavorslike a normal banh mi has with the daikon, crispy bread, carrots, and meat. The bread itself tasted like it had been out fordays and was very stale and barely warm despite just being served . The carrots were terribly cut and somehow soggy. The othertoppings flavor and serving size for the price were also extremely disappointing. Even the presentation was just ugly whencompared to how a banh mi normally looks. Needless to say, but my girlfriend and I both left hungry and very disappointed.Their other items may be good, but AVOID the banh mi here. It?s overpriced, not flavorful, and disappointing. Let me start by saying Crispy Baguette is by far one of the best places I've ever eaten at. It's inconspicuously tucked away in... a back corner making it slightly hard to find but its so worth it. They have a broad menu of Vietnamese and French inspired foodas well as some others. I personally chose the japanese teryaki chicken with rice (a conservative choice I know) and the qualityand portion size was astounding; it tasted amazing and I even have some leftovers. I also jad the thai tea and it was easily thebest I have ever had. As for service, the employees were very nice and speedy. If I could give more than 5 stars i would. I willdefinitely be coming back. As a friend of mine called it when we went, Crispy Baguette is best described as a "hole in the wall" type of place. While... searching for a brunch cafe to eat at, without looking at the description we found ourselves at Crispy Baguette. Much to mysurprise, the french influences to this Vietnamese joint paired perfectly to make one of the best casual dining experiences inGainesville. Whether you get a bowl or baguette, asian soda or sushi, you can't go wrong sampling from there well-priced andbroad menu. Read more

Good vietnamese/asian fusion food and great service, but the menu is too diverse. I really loved that the bread for the Bahn mi... was crispy, but the proportion of meat to veggies to pate was off. Also, they only had pickled carrots and not Daikon radish inthe Bahn mi. The chicken wings with house sauce had way too much fish sauce that it overwhelmed all the other flavors. Out ofeverything we ordered, I probably liked my stir fry dish the most. I would definitely suggest to try to limit the menu so thatthey can focus and do a few things extremely well (i.e. Bahn mi) rather than try to do too much. The wait was long, but pricesare very reasonable. I'll come back to try their traditional vietnamese cold cut bahn mi. Read more
