I was a little disappointed in their sauce. The waitress was new. Asked for no ice. She brought ice. We also didn't get our... dinner rolls til we were almost done. I had such a wonderful time celebrating my surprise 40th birthday at Mama Gina?s last night. They were able to accommodate our... large party. We had plenty of space to enjoy, and the restaurant is beautiful and well kept. The food was absolutelydelicious-you?ll never find Chicken Riggies that good anywhere else! And the Utica greens-out standing! The atmosphere wasperfect. The staff did an amazing job keeping up with all of us. The bar had wonderful crafts brews to choose from, along withall of the typical wines and spirits. It was a relaxed and fun evening and I can?t thank the team at Mama Gina?s enough! GrazieMille ???? Whoever the young lady answering the phone and taking orders is fantastic. Not rushed;extremely pleasant and concise. All restaurants need to take lessons from this girl. 10/10 The pizza. The dough seemed pressedand not hand tossed. That being said; excellent pie. The sauce was great, toppings just right. Cooked in an oven. That's apositive. Crust was well done but not burnt. good crisp. Cooked all the way threw. Edge to edge sauce and toppings, very wellput together. I prefer a thinner crust and a little more rise in the dough, especially around the edges. Score 7.1/10, probablyone of the best pies in the local area. The wings. When you ask "on a level of 1 to 10 how crisp you want your Wings?"; You knowthey take this seriously!! I asked for cooked not crispy, i hate overcooked wings. That's a level 4. These have too be the bestwings in all of central NY. The sauce was spot on. not greasy, great flavor. Doesn't taste like bottled nasty sauce like mostplaces serve. Best pizza around, hands down. Wings are great too! This has become our new ?go-to? for pizza night. The standard pizza is... always delicious. Crust is always just the right thickness and level of crisp. The perfect ?fold in half? slice of pizza.Flavorful toppings and sauce. The wings are excellent as well. The only local place I?ll get wings from now. Plus, they ask youwhat level of crisp you?d like your wings on a 1-10 scale, which is a nice touch. That?s all well and good, but this place?sspecialty is wood fired pizzas and they do NOT disappoint. After visiting a dozen or so times, I finally decided to try out theCup and Char Wood Fired pepperoni pizza. Topped with honey oil after cooking. Honestly it?s currently the best pizza I?ve evereaten. Not to put it on a pedestal, but it?s delicious. I wasn?t sure about the honey, but it added a much welcomed zing ofsweetness. A combo I?m usually not a fan of, but it?s works well here. 10/10 easily. As for the service, the staff is alwaysfriendly. Really the only issue I?ve ever found are the wait times are slightly higher than other shops. Generally when I?mquoted a 35-40 minute pick up time, I show up and it seems like the pizza has been done for a bit. But estimates aren?t an exactscience and the pizza is good enough. It?s not a huge issue. On my last visit, I walked in and waited while, who I?m assumingwas the owner, finished my wood fired pizza. He got distracted while training an employee on the process and the pizza stuck tothe bottom of the oven. He immediately threw it out, apologized, and began work on a fresh one. Just to give an idea of thelevel of quality they maintain. He did also mention he?s training new employees, and the wood fired pizza oven had just comeback online after a year and a half. Mama Gina's for dinner tonight! Unfortunately I cannot give a full 5 star review because of a mishap. We ordered curbside pickup... at 815pm and it was a 25 minute wait. We got there at 840pm to pick up our food and they said 10 more minutes and they wouldbring it out to us. 858 rolls around and we go inside to see if they had our food. Unfortunately, they had given our order tosomeone else. So they made us 2 new calzones and a free order of garlic knots. We waited a total of a little over an hour. I wasdisappointed as I wanted to just grab our food and go home after a long day. Garlic knots were very good though. Calzones eachcame with sauce. Bread is nice and fluffy and the insides are cooked perfectly! I got a cheese calzone and my boyfriend got aBuffalo chicken one. Both taste really good.
