This used to be one of our favorite breakfast places in the area, but they changed their menu and now, it's kind of a bummer.... They used to have this amazing vegan breakfast sandwich..not even vegan, but it was breakfast perfection. The last time we gotbreakfast there was a few weeks ago and we grabbed these breakfast burrito bowls to go and when we got home it was like a sadsalad with an egg on it. Love this place! Have been going to Black Coffee for about 3 years now and it is one of my favorite coffee shops in the city.... The baked good are outstanding, especially the cheddar biscuits! Although I always get black coffee (as in no cream), it alwaystastes fresh and perfectly brewed! Love the ample outdoor seating and the fact that the cafe is located well outside the busy DCcenter. One of my favorite coffee shops in DC! Great variety of delicious beverages and food - amazing pastries and great coffee. Highly... recommend the cheese biscuits. One of my favorite places sort of in DC. The food-from the sides of potatoes to the gluten free vegan pastries -is delicious(the... breakfast sandwich is especially good.) The staff is friendly even when faced with a long line of uncaffeinated customers, whilethe atmosphere relaxed and non assuming. Their counter drinks are well crafted, but so is their plain old coffee (which to me isalmost more important.) It's a neighborhood haunt, and a hidden gem. Read more

The ham and cheese croissant is AMAZING, very cheesy and flavorful. The salmon is extremely fresh and delicate. 10/10

Black Coffee is quickly becoming my favorite brunch spot. Great service and solid food and coffee. Spacious outdoor area.
