We had a work dinner at Mi Cocina and it was amazing! The food came out super fast and it was delicious, but the best part of... the night was how amazing the service was! Carlos and Abby were awesome. Abby did a great job and will do awesome when she?sdone with training. Carlos was amazingly personable and was made to do customer service! Our group of 7 went here last night. The nachos mi tierra (get this one, you don't want to miss the poblano crema) and the tacos... mi tierra, both with chicken, were great! I think the other tacos that were ordered had less heat/flavor than people wereexpecting, but the mi tierra had a good amount, and the portions of guac and pico de gallo were generous. We gavedrink/appetizer orders right away, but it did take awhile to get our food order placed which surprised us since we came in latein the evening, but the serving staff were attentive and took good care of us. I'm a long time devoted Mi Cocina customer. This was my first time at this location. It's close to home, and I'm a die hard... Cowboys fan, so it's the perfect location for me! We went for a late, light, lunch. Considering its the holidays, I expectpeople to be on vacation, so there was a fair amount of people. It's one of the largest I've been to. I love the layout,there's section on both Winning & The Star. The bar had a cool inviting vibe, maybe next time. There's also an outdoor patiooption. The hostess immediately showed us to a table facing The Star Blvd. The restaurant was decorated for Christmas, it wasreally pretty inside. I've been away from Dallas for a few years, this was my first time back! Chips, salsa, and Guacamolearrived quickly after our drinks. I ordered my usual beef nachos El carbon, with green rice. My son got bacon wrappedshrimp. They were both as delicious as I remember. The gulf shrimp were incredible. The green rice tasted just as Iremembered. Our waiter Octavio was one of the most attentive, I've ever had the pleasure of being served by. He wasfriendly, suggestive, quick, efficient, and charming. He treated us like guests, and I would love to dine in his section nexttime I'm back. He made our return dining experience a memorable one! Read more
We called early afternoon to make a reservation, they don?t make reservations at this location. After the Christmas event, we... waited in line to put our names in. They told us it would 45-50 minutes. We went into bar and it was extremely busy. We wereable to get a seat at the bar. We went back several times to check with hostess. We were later seated after an hour & 45minutes. Once seated, we waited another 15 minutes. Luckily, we saw a table outside being cleared, we waived down the managerand she let us move. After ordering there was confusion on drinks ordered and pricing. Our food came out, and we were told itwent to a different table. Not too happy since once of our selections was steak fajitas, they were NOT sizzling. Expensiveevening for blah service. The food was delicious the location outstanding and the service perfect. In addition, the food terrific. Went with a group of 30... and the staff handled each of us like we were an individual customer. The appetizers just kept coming. By the time we finishedappetizers we almost had no room for the meal.
