They have one star by default, because the only way to leave a response was for me to lie about a one star review. I paid 25... dollars for the most horrible meals I've ever had, the rice was dry, the whole meal was dry. Over seasoned, I had shrimp friedrice, the shrimp still had the veins in them. 1st, I must state, If Im getting Chinese food its a craving or Im too lazy to cook etc. 2nd, I only use the drive through at... chef chen. Ive never walked in or looked inside. 3rd the few times Ive went I was happy with what I ordered. Except the eggrolls. I think they're terrible, yet I still order them, I still eat them because I'm a moron. I think the cute brunette girlthat works the drive through window is just adorable. Fresh and piping hot food! This was the first time I went to Chef Chen ( went at 12pm). I saw the buffet was mentioned in... reviews, the girl at the register said that they don't do buffet anymore. No worries, I got take out instead: Chicken springrolls, beef Lo mein (spicy), and Chicken fried rice (spicy). When she said it will be done in 5mins, I was bit worried that Iwas going to get some reheated food. When I got my food and tried some in my car, it was piping hot and tasted fresh (noaftertaste in the meat)! I'm usually really critical and have higher expectations of north and east Asian food, it's one of myfavorites and I have tried MANY kinds. I was impressed by Chef Chen's. Another bonus is that it is halal. The dishes I gotdidn't have a Desi twist or anything either (thank God lol), it tastes like proper Chinese takeout. I would recommend Chef Chenfor those looking for (halal) proper Chinese takeout type food. Read more

One of the best halal Chinese food available in Dallas area. All the food we ordered was delicious. Everyone enjoyed all the... dishes. Their service 10 out 10 and ambience is very welcoming. So i have been extremely confused with giving this review. I've waited 2 months to give this place a review. I've tried a... variety of items from their menu, and tastewise everything was really great, considering its more like a fast chinese. The itemsI've had are: Chicken / beef fried rice, orange / empress / general tso chicken, Mongolian beef. The only reason i was hesitanton providing a 5 star rating, is because their paper menu prices are different than their actual register prices! Their onlinemenu prices are now updated atleast, so happy for that! Great for catering as well. Still very yummy, but has gotten a bitexpensive over the last year! Read more
