Reviews for SARAVANAA BHAVAN in Fremont, CA
This is the best Saravana chain in the US. The taste was really good, the spiciness and everything was perfect. Ordered... multiple dosas, idli, vada, uttapam and everything was delicious, chatted with the Owner and he was friendly as well, andsuggested him to open one chain in Chicago :P Read more
What can I say about this gem ????. Iv been to a lot of SB's across globe and I had to wait in line for ever... this place has... all good parts... no rush or lines. Its located in a very good location with tons of shopping around and good parking. It's avegetarian delight...heaven to south Indian foodies. Any dish will remind you of incredible india... just head there with yourfamily and you will love it. Food is amazing. People are very friendly especially the female waitress we had was sooo funny andwelcoming. Loved this place. Read more
This is a great restaurant with Authentic south Indian food. Really good quality food and portion size is sufficient. I ordered... combo plate and it had variety of sides. They show mini dosa on combo it was like any regular size dosa. Highly recommend thisplace. Read more
Besides hanging ball decor and Tamil songs playing the background, I don’t think this particular restaurant has a lot to... offer. Although the South Indian Tiffins/Breakfast menu looks authentic, items don’t taste as good. The flavors are bland.Try flipping a coin to check your luck if food being served is hot, with exception of coffee of course which was hot every time.Have tried Mysore masala dosa, podi dosa, masala dosa, idli and vada. Was not fortunate enough in finding an item for mytasting. Service is another issue here. You need to order your food before you are seated at a table. And then you are suddenlyunder an invisibility cloak. Surprisingly, most waiters didn’t understand English so had to play dumb charades to request hotsambar/chutneys which was fun but wouldn’t pick restaurant for such activities. Now, If you’re craving vegetarian SouthIndian breakfast food and you do not find any other restaurant open for some reason, you could try your luck with this one. Read more
Food taste authenticity and service speeds need to match up to the brand name. The line for ordering/paying upfront before... dining in can be annoying. The aviyal tasted like kadhi. :) Had to wait for 10 minutes asking for a chutney refill. Menu handedout didn't have the sambhar stain cleaned. Read more
I have been a customer of Saravana Bhavan for long years and I have eaten in many town and Cities. This Saravana Bhavan is... definitely let us down. We went there as a group of 9 and we tried many items on the menu. I would say none of the items livesup to Saravan Bhavan standard. Coffee was the only item that was good. What is really surprising is that they had so manycustomers both for dine-in and to-go, but they were clearly understaffed. Some of the items took a long time to come. Once theyserve, none of them will look at you. Very bad customer service! Read more
Hands down the place to go for authentic South Indian food. We had a Mysore Masala Dosa, Butter Masala Dosa and an Executive... South Indian Thali for the three of us. And lo and the dosas were so big, we ended up leaving some of it. Get a Mysore MasalaDosa instead of others since that’s the only one that gets the red chutney applied to the dosa. The Thali was one of thefinest, just go for it. Definitely recommended ? Read more
Best Thali I've had (although I'm a white dude, so my sample size is small). Service was friendly but forgot out drinks - did... rush them out when we flagged them down to ask. The dosas are HUGE and delicious. The Thali had a good variety and fresh fluffybread. Left happy for a very good price. Read more
