This is my first visit to this location. My companion is a non-native Hawaiian and lived her early teens i to young adulthood in... Hawaii. Thus, the bias she presented weighed against my liberal love for Hawaiian food rather evenly. Our meal was the Seafoodcombo with white rice and macaroni salad. LauLau and fried shrimp joined fried Mahi-Mahi. Each of us had a fountain soda.Everything was middle of the road. While I reveled at the flavors and textures, my partner reminded me of her experiences.Differenxes were in presentation and preparation of the Lau-Lau. The fatty pork was ensconced in tea leaves and ought to havebeen wrapped a banana leaf when presented. I was taking small bites and relishing the pork and bits of fat. definitely wouldorder the Lau-Lau again. The soda was not cold and needed more carbonation. the fish was good and shrimp also average. Well I have to say I love the L&L near my house but this one was a big disappointment. The food was totally different (in a bad... way) and the portions were way smaller. Wish I had skipped getting food from here. Won't go back there again. Read more
We ordered online but the cashier told us that they did not received our order and my credit card was already charged. Instead... of helping the customer to resolved the issue they told us that they are close, but it's already 11:00 am when I entered theplace. I am recommending this place. Read more
DO NOT come . I walked in and seen the cook preparing my spam musubi with her BARE HANDS . I told the cashier about it and he... has her make it over. I then watched her go and grab a chair from the back with her BARE hands then proceeds to remake my musubiAGAIN with her hands. NO GLOVES OR MASKS ON WHATSOEVER. I am From Hawaii & even the L&L there has the same sad food. I can tell that its not a native islander who showed them how to... cook.If u have lived or stayed in HI for a while you can tell Its some corporate mash up of poor choices in the ingredients & recipes are a Asian mash up. Too much mayo on the mac salad, Lau Lau is all fat w/ banana leaf over taro. Tastes to sweet notsavory, not enough real smoke. Buy some wood chips or a smoke machine & use Taro & Tea leaf & then banana leaf if u have too. Once in a while u will find a nice clean one who knows how to add to cook good...but u know how to make Hawaiian BBQ/ mixplates? Hire a hawaiian at each store & get some poi & lomi lomi! Loco Moco's are mostly decent, rice is always good! L&L tastesmore.like Chinese buffet food. just taste the "Japenese" Katsu sauce thats brown instead of red. We add ka spash of ketchup toit &sp it's sweet on that dry katsu with no panko crust. And where's the chili pepper water? Its like eating at a shady tacotruck, it smells good, your really hungry...just not sure what the outconewill be.. ll eat it but its 1 star food. Hire locals &get rid of that hideous yellow sign. I am soooo disappointed! I always come to this location when I order Hawaiian food and this time I ordered for pick up and got... home, sat down to eat and as my boyfriend was eating we found this piece of metal in the food under his short ribs and on top ofthe macaroni salad... we immediately called the restaurant to tell them and all he said was we can bring the food back and getrefunded..... then asked his boss and the boss said the same thing... the guy working the register was amazing taking my orderand his customer service was great! Definitely not his fault... I'm just like do you really expect me to bring back a plate thathas already been almost finished... and ruin everyone else's dinner while our food gets cold in that whole process??! I don'tunderstand and you would think they would've offered to do more! If my boyfriend wouldn't have seen it and just ate it... thenwhat? We would have sued them for sure! Definitely won't be coming back to this location any more! For the price of the platesand spending over $50 you would think they would've have tried to offer something especially with how often we eat here!!! Read more
Love me some L&L, and this was my first visit to this store since moving back into the neighborhood (it wasn't here when I... left). Driving up, it looked like it might be closed, dim lights, no tables/chairs in middle of the floor, and they had outdatedCOVID-19 mandate signs on the doors. Inside, it was dirty, unorganized (product stacked everywhere), and it smelled...different. The cashier was sitting down behind the counter watching some video on his phone and I felt like I was interruptinghim. He was definitely friendly though. In all honesty, I was hesitant to eat the food once I got it. In all, I will look forother L&L locations, as I will not be coming back here. It just felt sad and not cared for in there. Read more
