One of our favorite go-to places for South Indian breakfast. They have a few items on their menu but they excel at the food they... make! Their thatte idlis are amazing, no other place in Bay Area is able to match this quality. Their filter coffee and RavaKesari are also among our favorites. Today (Sunday 11/13/2022) they had a stand and eat concept with idli coffee combo and chowchow bath which was super delicious and I'd look forward to repeats of this event in the future. Read more
Take out only for now. They sell idli batter as well. Filter coffee is good, Podi idli was awesome, a bit less spicy then I... would have preferred but still super. Tatte idli were soft and tasty, I had expected them to be a bit bigger in size but theportion of 2 with the medhu vada (idli vada combo) was pretty filling as such. Read more
Idly Express is a fantastic place. The taste is mind-blowing and consistently great. If you crave or long for vegan, vegetarian... dishes, best place. You can get takeout, go to nearby Lake Elizabeth and have it. They have lunch items in a very traditionalway by preordering or taking out tiffin items by ordering. Very authentic and fresh. Absolutely love this place for their idly sambhar, mini tiffins, pongal and Vada. If you are visiting first time would recommend... trying their sambhar idly, podi idly and Pongal. They don't have an inside seating but have few tables outside the restaurant totake out and sit. The waiting time is not much but they are shut during the afternoon hours so check the time before you go. Read more

This place is so authentic! We just returned from India and can confirm the food here is straight out of Madras. The chutneys... and sambar is a little spicy though, for those who like milder food. The quantities are also big. Read more
Ordered Idly sambhar combo and kesri rava. Idly sambhar combo comes with four small vadas , tomato and coconut chutney. Vadas... were fresh and crispy from outside and soft from inside. Size of vada could be better. Chutnies were phenomenal. Quantity ofChutnies and sambhar was good. Sambhar was the best, thick, flavorful, full of veggies. Best sambhar tasted in US. Kesri ravawas good. Flavoured with kesar/saffron. Tasted pretty good. Only thing is lacked dry fruits. Read more
This is the first time I ordered at idly express. Taste is very good and similar to taste back in bharath. I was craving for... Bangalore style thatte idly and found it here. This place is fully vegetarian. Being a vegetarian it?s easy to order withouthaving any doubt about the contents unless like other restaurants having both veg and non veg. Read more
