This review is pretty much just because of the service or lack there of.. The guy who worked there pretty much made it clear he... didn't want to be there.. No greeting, no please and thank you, no offer of anything (had to ask for water, chop sticks and eventhe check after sitting there for a while). The food was ok but they definitely cheap out on the proteins.. my egg was also wayover cooked on my bibimbap. Unfortunately would not return Read more

Even though they call themselves Thai Manao but due to their customer base, they serve a little Thai, a little Chinese, a little... Canadian, a little of everything. And the owner is Chinese. The food is pretty good. The service is very nice and warm. Keep upthe good work! Read more

Today I tried the restaurant for the first time and I got the extra spicy Singapore noodles and let me tell you I got lit up,... they were delicious and also stayed very hot until I got home which is a 40 min drive, the next time I'm going to go for alittle less spicy even thought it was very enjoyable I know I'm going to pay for the spices tonight when my belly disagrees withmy choices.... Lovely wait staff, fast service, but that was pretty much it. I was shocked and disappointed by the food my mother and I ordered... this evening. I have been to countless Asian restaurants and I have never been so discouraged about the inauthenticity andbland-ness. I have also worked in an authentic Asian restaurant in the past and worked on a line. Let me elaborate my experiencefor you: Firstly, my mother and I placed our order. I ordered KATSU DON which was described as "Deep fried PORK with sweetsauce, vegetables and egg on a bed of rice." I was absolutely astonished by the lack of flavor. The rice was overcooked, wateryand mushy with no texture at all and it was very starchy. Growing up on rice as a kid, I instantly recognized the taste of"Uncle Ben's Rice" from eating it for half of my lifetime. The meat was NOT PORK and was in fact chicken. Battered "chicken'nugget. Not real chicken, but processed compacted chicken. The pieces were soaked and soggy from the sauce. Nothing would haveconfirmed that this was in fact Katsu Don. I called over the server and I asked her how they made the rice. She said they used"plain fried rice and mix it with the sweet sauce", which is not how you make Katsu. If you need a reference, the rice (stickyrice or calrose rice) is plain at the bottom, the protein is fried and crispy, and the sauce should be *drizzled* on top. When Iasked about the meat, she said it was chicken. I questioned WHY it still said Pork on the menu, and she explained "they haven'tchanged it yet, and we changed it because not a lot of people eat pork" You've gotta be kidding me. That is not a real reason.IF I HAD AN ALLERGY TO CHICKEN I WOULD HAVE BEEN HOSPITALIZED. There is absolutely NO EXCUSE for this. It is false advertisementand VERY dangerous. 100% inexcusable. Secondly, mother ordered the Beef Udon Stir Fry. It had no seasoning whatsoever and thesauce had no taste. The udon noodles tasted like the plastic package it usually comes in. The tast Read more

My husband and I visited Thai Manao Restaurant on a Monday for lunch (around 2.30 pm) and we were seated right away. Food: We... ordered ramen, sweet and sour pork stir & bibimap (with pork belly). Everything was flavourful and portion sizes are generous. We also got a Tao Chicken rice as a take away. Service: our server was young and served quick. Ambiance: With slow music andjust enough light on the background, the restaurant has a calm atmosphere. The rest rooms are clean. Read more

My husband lived in Freddy for 4years and after moving to Ontario he?s been trying to find a place with good sweet & sour pork... and has been so disappointed that he cannot find one. He?s been telling me about how amazing it is from Thai Manao for the last2 years so while we were visiting for a few days, we made sure this was the very first place we stopped to curb his craving. Itdid not disappoint! the sweet & sour pork is hands down the best I?ve ever had and it?s exactly how he remembers it. I nowunderstand why none of the other places we?ve tried compare. Since it was so good and it?s his absolute favourite, we ended upordering it 3 times while visiting lol. Their Pad Thai was also tastey and a good portion size. Now I join him in craving it andlook forward to our next years visit. Read more

I came here for the first time a few days ago and LOVED the food and service. Today was a far cry from that. The young server... took a long time to take our order and when we ordered it arrived at an adequate time and it looked very good! However what heoverlooked was checking in on his customers to ask how the food tasted after a few moments of receiving it. Had he come by toask, I would have told him that I couldn?t bare the smell of the dish I ordered. I had taken 3 small bites from it thinking itwas just me or it was just the sauce that was used but I?ve tasted that dish before and it was not the same. Even when I pushedit away to the edge of the table it wasn?t far enough - the smell was unpleasant (similar to the foul odour you get if thedishwasher doesn?t clean the dishes well) I ended up having to push it further away to the other side of the table. My husbandand I just sat there for minutes and finally we flagged him down to ask for our bill. When he came over he still didn?t enquireas to why the full dish was at the edge of the table but my husband asked for a container to take his dish home. We also askedfor our bill, paid for our food. I left my dish there and I went elsewhere for my dinner. Read more

It's been a few months, since before covid, that I've been able to visit Thai Manao. It's always awesome, but it was the first... time in over a year that I tried the curry, and this Pinang curry was a surprise. When I got it, it looked incredible, chili oilmingling with but not disappearing into the sauce, and when I took a bite, what a heavenly, beautiful flavour. I would say thisis the best-tasting Asian dish I've had in Fredericton. Also, though the server was extremely busy with skipthedishes orders, she still managed to check in on us when needed. And then the bill was only around $30 for two beautiful entrees and a smallappetizer. Completely satisified Read more
