Busy authentic Jamaican restaurant with delicious freshly prepared food favorites and genuinely friendly customer service. This... was our second time there and on both occasions our host and server was Ato Williams who is also the bartender and FrontendSpecialist. In short, he was awesome on both visits. Despite wearing many hats and "Doing It All,"- he was very pleasant, hardworking, happy to help and provided us with great customer service. Alto was very friendly and he smiled, greeted, andseated us when we walked in. Pimenta offers a decent size menu with authentic Jamaican appetizers, entrees, drinks, and deserts-everything that moves around you looks and smells so good! On our first visit, for an entree my wife had the Curry CoconutSalmon. She originally wanted the Jerk Salmon but I reminded her that our customers recommended the Curry Coconut Salmon and sodid Ato as well. I ordered the Red Snapper which you may have prepared in three different ways. I asked Ato which was the mostpopular and best tasting and he indicated the Deep Fried Salmon. We had water with no ice and lemon to drink. The Curry CoconutSalmon was the correct portion and the appropriate size and was full of great flavor. I recommend having the Salmon prepared tomedium temperature. My wife selected Seasoned Cabbage and Vibe's Mac and Cheese as her two sides which were equally delicious. My Deep Fried Whole Red Snapper dish was personally delivered by the Wayne, The Master Chef and it looked and smelledscrumptious. I paired the fish with Rice and Peas and Fried Plantains. Both of our meals were very delicious and the perfecttemperature... We were so thankful that we chose to go to Pimenta from the several eateries that our customer recommended in theFredericksburg, Virginia area. By the way, Ato makes some very interesting alcoholic drinks and we were very tempted to try onebut we had a long drive ahead... Try his new creation a "Blue Martini." On our second visit, for an entree my w Read more

I'd been wanting to try this Jamaican restaurant in downtown Fredericksburg for awhile and so glad I got around to it. I loved... the atmosphere. I love reggae music too so that just enhanced the vibe. I tried ox tail for the first time and liked it. Thejasmine rice and fried plantains were also good. I also tried a pineapple soda. And I wasn't planning on drinking but my friendand the bartender talked me into it. The bartender said she just made up a "grinch" drink and it was very festive looking andtasty. My friend got the chicken curry and we also had the Kingston egg rolls for an appetizer. Those were yummy too. The staffwere very outgoing and pleasant. I recommend this for a different taste in the Burg! Also the island atmosphere was very warmingduring this cold weather for someone who doesn't like winter haha. Read more

I got catering for my husbands chef reception. I ordered Jamaican Pattie’s, jerk chicken wings, oxtail, and rice and peas and... they were DELICIOUS!!! The food had the right amount of flavors and the oxtail fell off the bone. The portions were generous andthe price was right. The customer service was wonderful and I’ll definitely be coming back again. Thanks for making myhusbands special day even better with the delicious food. Read more

Food: 3/5 Service: 2/5 We walked in before the evening rush when there was barely anyone and had water served within a couple... minutes. After that, we were left waiting to order our food and to ask for recommendations. Overall, our dine-in duration for asandwich and two appetizers took over an hour. The food portions weren’t fantastic and the flavors were iffy. The manager wasmore eager to seat people and serve them water than to help the staff out in serving the cool-temperatured food and takingtable’s orders. Read more

My husband and I were looking forward to lunch at one of our favorite restaurants. After finding out we'd have to wait thirty... minutes before being seated, we decided to head elsewhere. We parked in front of a quaint looking little restaurant thatenticed us with the posted menu in the window. No waiting. Score! We were promptly greeted by Ato, who both seated and waitedon us. While other customers enjoyed their food, Ato ensured all our questions were answered regarding the menu. Drinks wereserved immediately and our food was quick to follow. Ato checked on us several times to refill our water glasses and make surewe had all we needed for a satisfying meal. Our meals arrived, and they looked & smelled amazing! The jerk salmon was out ofthis world, according to my husband. And my curried chicken tasted absolutely sublime! The food is legit Jamaican food mixed atiny bit with American. We instantly fell in love with this comfortable little eatery on the fringe of Fredericksburg's downtownhub –so much so, that we went back the following day for lunch! AND we made reservations for the following Tuesday evening.Pimenta has quickly risen to the top of our favorite places to eat. The cozy environment is relaxing with a truly laid backfeel. Five stars for service (thank you, Ato!), atmosphere, and most of all, the food. Read more

First, I'm NOT a Jamaican food aficionado, but our experience here on Black Friday was AMAZING. A lot of the staff were out... including the bartender so we were only able to order the rum punch, but it was delicious. One of the chefs waited on us and weasked him to pick our sides, and this was a good choice. The jerk shrimp was grilled PERFECTLY and had a fantastic mix of sweetand spicy. Coupled with rice and beans and the best plantains I've ever had, we completely cleaned the plate. The goat stewmelted in your mouth with just the right amount of kick. The sides on this dish surprised me. Didn't expect to get some of thebest mac and cheese ever and stewed garbanzo along with. The staff was VERY conscious of wearing masks, handling our flatware, social distancing, and generally keeping us safe. The bathrooms were large and very clean. I can't wait to go back and samplesome of their other dishes as well as seeing what the bartender has to offer. So happy to have discovered this place and lookingforward to more visits in the future.
