Reviews for Orleans Bistro & Grill in Fredericksburg, VA
What a great dining experience. We were on the road and just randomly picked this place. We hit the jackpot. Our server was very... friendly and attentive. We started with appetizers of Gator bites and fried green tomatoes which were excellent. I ordered aCajun seafood dish which had mussels sausage shrimp and crawfish over a creamy linguine bed which was phenomenal. My wifeordered the gumbo which was also outstanding. My daughter had a blackened chicken linguine dish which she said was great. Priceswere very reasonable considering the high cost of living in this area. I highly recommend this restaurant. Read more
This place was recommended to us and we were excited to try it since our other favorite Cajun restaurant has closed during... covid. First the good. We had reservations so there was no wait even though it was already starting to get busy when we gotthere at 11:30 Saturday morning. There was live music and she sounded great. Of the food that we ordered the shrimp appetizerand the hush puppies were great. Now the not so great. The most significant thing was that the $30 bowl of gumbo my husbandordered had pieces of shredded plastic in it. I didn't get a picture because the server took the plate with the plastic when weshowed her. The other less significant issues were that the servers were absolutely definitely understaffed and stressed wayout. When I mentioned the plastic I didn't ask to see a manager or anything but when I showed the waitress the plastic shevolunteered that there was no management on staff at that time and that's part of the reason they were so overwhelmed. Due tostaffing everything took a very long time to arrive. We sat at 11:30 but didn't order until about 12 then our food took another30-45 minutes. The kitchen was out of alligator, which was one of the primary reasons we came. Also, the bottomless mimosacrowd was rowdy enough that at least one glass was dropped and shattered while we were there. It was a fun vibe with peoplesinging along to the DJ but by the time we left the atmosphere was getting unpleasant. The overall quality of the place didn'tseem to match other restaurants we go with a similar price tag. My husbands plastic gumbo was removed from the bill but for thetwo of us with an appetizer and our meals the bill would have been over $100 but our cups were plastic (a clear version of thosekinds that used to be used at Domino's or Chuck E Cheese), the silverware was thin and cheap feeling. They were using verystrong scented citrus Lysol wipes to wipe down table tops between diners which over powered the smell of the food a Read more
Stopped in for a quick bite to eat and was not disappointed. We had the alligator bites, chicken gizzard and corn bread. The... service was great and the atmosphere was on par with a Saturday lunch stop. I am jealous I did not have the bottomless mimosas(sat-sun 11a.m.-3p.m.). The gator bites were okay. If the batter had a little more seasoning and there were more consistentsizes I would have gave 5 stars The Gizzards were exactly what I expected, and they will be a reason why I return. The CornBread!!! It tastes like a fluffy slice of happiness. Read more
My 1st time going here since the reopening and the place is really cute. My friend and I sat back and thought about how small... the space was before the remodel and how we crammed in there and had a good time Friday and Saturday nights. The food was stillamazing and as usual my drink was definitely hittin. Read more
Finally got to Orleans bistro. Read so many good things about it and they weren't wrong. Everything tasted AMAZING. Had... alligator bites to start followed by shrimp and grits for me and pork chops with gravy, mac n cheese, and green beans for mywife. I can't recommend that you try this place enough. Be warned, they put a 20% gratuity automatically on the bill if there islive music. Read more
The food and atmosphere was amazing. We came on a Friday night and there was a DJ playing great music. The fried chicken,... collard greens, and mashed potatoes were sooo delicious. It was also nice to meet the owner, Tisha, and seeing her interact withthe guests. Definitely a place to return to often. Read more
This place is awesome! We stopped on our way to Florida and ALL the people are so friendly and accommodating. Shrimp in the... shrimp pasta was cooked to perfection! The menu choices make it hard to decide. The cook came out to ask how everything was. Itvery nice touch. They do close after lunch to prepare for dinner so plan accordingly. Will definitely be back! Stopped here on a road trip and definite don’t regret it. Appetizers were okay, but the food was great. They did not skimp on... the meat and the flavor was it. If I could go back I’d request a little more spice, so there’s that. But what made the stopso great was not just the food, but also the staff. We had the most amazing server who was super friendly and went above andbeyond during our meal. Read more
