Kabul for the win tonight! First the transformation of the inside of the restaurant is beautiful creating awesome atmosphere.... The service was top notch, very prompt and most importantly hospitable. We were given complimentary chicken soup which the wholetable ( 10 of us ) all enjoyed. The portions were large and hearty. The lamb shank was amazing and the different kabobs werevery tasteful. Everything was great from the sides to the bread. We were also given a traditional Afghanistan dessert to try andhot tea which completed these wonderful meal. Definitely will be back! Read more

I ordered takeout to take home. Given that the location was new, my wife and I were interested in trying this restaurant. We... were impressed! The food was amazing, fresh, and flavorful - practically like having a delicious home-cooked meal.\nWe used todrive to up north when we were looking to have Afghan food. However, we are delighted that this amazing restaurant is inFredericksburg. This was by far the best kabob that we have had, and all of the staff was extremely friendly and welcoming. Ifyou are undecided on where to go, definitely give this restaurant a try. You will not be disappointed! Read more

This brand new restaurant, barely 2 weeks old, is run by a gentleman who had run an Afghanistan restaurant in Alexandria for 20... years. His expertise shows. The ambiance, service and food quality is top notch. Food was as good and even better than someI\'ve had in DC and in other metropolitan areas. The perfectly cooked, exquisitely spices and juicy shami kabob was probably thebest I\'ve had in the DMV. Also had the Aushak, similar to Mantu (or Manti in Turkish restaurants) which is an Afghan dumplingequivalent with leeks, mint, yogurt and ground beef. They also had broiled bone in lamb stewed with an aromatic tomato basedsauce that had a perfect balance of sweet and savory. We had a refreshing dessert of a cool custard made of milk and corn flourspiced with cardamom. Delicious! Save yourself some time and go to Fredericksburg instead of going north. I got to know theowners, Fatah and Gary. They have recently arrived from Afghanistan and are proud of the products they provide. Verygracious! Great food and worth the price. Top quality ingredients! Kabul! Help support our local economy! Read more

Tonight we had dinner at Kabul Restaurant and Cafe. I highly recommend! Our service was amazing and the food was beyond... delicious. We started with the hot and sour soup followed by the mantu appetizer. I had the chicken kabob and my husband had theshami kabob. We had sides of chick peas and subzi. The food was so rich in flavor and cooked just right. Reminds me of myhusbands aunts cooking. (My husband couldn?t wait and took a bite out of his kabob before I could get a picture - that shows howdelicious it was!!) Delicious and we will be back! Highly recommend! Read more

Delicious food, amazing wait staff and just overall fabulous hospitality. The dumplings were scrumptious, especially the pumpkin... dumplings if you like something a bit sweet. I haven?t tasted meat as succulent as I did with the lamb and beef platter. Veryattentive staff overall. As you can tell, I most definitely recommend a visit. I?ll certainly be going back!!
