I have been to Castiglias many times and I have not been impressed with the food. I?m not an Italian food fan though - not this... type of Italian food anyway. But besides that, I have always liked the atmosphere of this place. Good hangout, love the Sky Bar.If you are looking alright food and a fun atmosphere, this place is the place. Read more
I visited this restaurant recently. I do not live in Virginia, my sister and I were visiting my brother, we are from Iowa.... Walking by, I saw a man sitting outside on his phone, obviously FaceTimeing his family. He was so happy & laughing.?? I heardhis language and immediately knew he was Italian. ???? We entered this restaurant and I no idea it was where he worked. Ifigured he must be kitchen staff as he was dressed very informal and very casual. Come to find out , he and his brother movedfrom Naples at a very young age and created this phenomenal business. I saw this man behind the counter and I said You?reItalian! His answer was ?welcome to my family? ???? Let?s be clear here - the service was over the top the food was fabulous. IfI lived there - I?d be there Every Single Day! Castiglias delivers consistently great food. They are almost always busy and the service can sometimes vary, but they?ve been an... iconic Fredericksburg restaurant for over 20 years. My kids grew up eating spaghetti here. They have continually reinventedtheir look and feel and expanded to include a wood fire oven, a popular bar, and a rooftop restaurant. They have great apps,drinks, sandwiches, pizzas, calzones, and Italian favorites. The atmosphere is casual, kid friendly, and can be noisy and busyat times. You can eat here on the cheap or go fancy. We stopped by today, Mother?s Day, for a quick lunch of a few apps andsome carry out. Friendly bartenders helped us have a great time. Read more

Pretty good place. Brick oven pizza is okay... dough needs some work. Lacks that traditional tug usually affiliated with... authentic Italian wood fired cooked pizza. I really like leftover pizza cold next morning for breakfast... this didn't do itfor me. I'd go back, but not in a rush to do so. Oh... we sat on the roof... that was cool. Service was great, they were reallybusy, took almost an hour to get our 2 pizzas. The menu said they were 12" pizzas... wrong, bigger than that. We each orderedseparately due to what menu said... we could have split a pizza. Read more
