Our first time and to my surprise, my kid (with a gluten and dairy sensitivity) loved it--so much so that he complimented it... when the staff came by a little later, something he's never done on his own. I was nervous because I thought he'd not like thespices since he's never had African or Caribbean food, but he loved the grilled chicken, plantains and part of my rice/beans. Ihad jerk chicken, rice and beans, and the okra stew. It was SOO GOOD! Highly recommended! Read more

Finally stopped in at the award-winning Motherland Kitchen for an amazing lunch! The owner is proud of her cooking and happy to... explain all the details to you. Her menu is expansive and includes plenty of options for omnivores and vegans alike and canaccommodate those with gluten sensitivities. I had the goat stew with cassava water fufu and opted to eat it the traditionalway, and appreciated every flavorful bite. She also has her own cookbook and line of delicious spices. What a wonderful meal andexperience?I?ll definitely be back and bring my vegan husband! Read more

The food is a delight. We were so impressed with the flavors. We were welcomed and served with kindness. If you have not had the... privilege to taste the recipes of Cameroon, you should try the Motherland Kitchen! We tried the Peanut Butter Soup, the GoatStew, Plantains and the Chicken Kathi Kathi. Wow! My first time here. The lady attending all the customers was so nice and welcoming. She was also very friendly and I had... fun stopping in. I wandered into the kitchen and she didn't tell me to leave. I got to see her and her mom cook. What a treat! Iordered the beef stew with eggplant stew and 3 greens. I prefer the beef to be more tender and the eggplants cooked to verysoft. The 3 greens were amazing, and the sauce was yummy! To my surprise, my finicky pups who usually doesn't eat beef loved it!I always share my food with my pups if they want some. I would come back and try their ox tail dish. It was sold out and anothercustomer was talking about it. I would like to try the fish too. It looked delicious off the grill. I love supporting smallbusinesses. Please do the same. Read more
