Reviews for Firestone's Culinary Tavern in Frederick, MD
Quite good for a gastro pub type restaurant. The food was very tasty, the prices were on spot and the service was on point. The... only downside was the noise level which was a bit high upstairs (not crazy but still a bit hard to hear your party) Read more
Excellent service, delicious and amazingly flavorful food. Every dish we ordered was cooked and seasoned to perfection. There... were a lot of little details on many of the dishes that elevated the food. My only critique was how loud it was in therestaurant. Read more
Highly recommend!! First time visitors & impressed with food & service! I made a reservation for our party of 9 to celebrate my... daughter's 20th birthday. We were seated in a comfy "loft" semi-private section upstairs overlooking restaurant...perfectseating!! Tavern atmosphere as expected. Our waitress was very attentive, sweet & provided excellent service throughout ourmeal. Although everything was outstanding & the flavors created a party in my mouth, some of the dishes we had were the friedgreen tomatoes, crab dip, butter poached lobster with risotto, crab cakes, arugula salad, signature oyster & espresso martini. All dishes made with fresh ingredients & their house rolls are incredible! Must try this culinary treat located right indowntown Frederick (allow time to find parking). Excellent experience & birthday dinner!! Read more
The atmosphere is warm and inviting. We did not have a reservation but were lucky and got seated right away on the upper level... overlooking the bar. I do suggest reservations. The meal was top shelf! We started with the crab dip and didn't leave a speck.I had the veal shank and it was amazing! Michele had the sirloin and loved it! Do take the time to eat here if you're ever evenclose to Fredrick. Read more
Honestly this place was a delightful surprise. From the outside and decor inside you would think this is a regular bar serving... up typical bar food. But oh no, you would be wrong. The menu is comparable to any upscale (aka fancy) restaurant, and the chefcooked out meals perfectly. I got the seafood pasta - (that’s not the actual name but it’s the pasta with shrimp, lobsterand veggies) and I cleaned my plate. My friends got the duck which looked amazing and based on her reviews she loved it too.Truly a wonderful culinary find. Read more
Nice atmosphere over the two levels of this establishment with a full-size bar and a variety of seats and tables nestled... throughout. When we visited, the calamari had an interesting flavor but was incredibly salty--almost too salty to eat. My burgerwas fantastic and the charcuterie board my wife ordered was well-prepared and presented. The apple cobbler was terrific, aswell. Would like to come back again. Read more
We stopped in for Sunday brunch - shared an entree, app, and then dessert. Everything was delicious, but we absolutely LOVED... the Smores Bread Pudding dessert. Additionally, I'm from further south than MD and appreciate a good cup of sweet tea - ourwonderful server, Matthew P, had the great solution of bringing me a glass of unsweet tea and some simple syrup. The perfectsolution to unsweet tea! He had a great idea and great service throughout our outdoor visit. Would definitely recommend! Read more
It has the best French toast in town! The crab dip is good as well. The female waiters and host greets should be more... presentable in my opinion… a little be of makeup and a nice hair style would not hurt them. Read more
