Did the park and stay at the Hampton Inn, was feeling really hungry so we decided in stop in for a sandwich, ordered two of the... mile high corned beef sandwiches. They were absolutely amazing!! We had an amazing dinner here made according to Grandma recipes. The house bread was fresh and warm and served with an excellent... balsamic/oil and garlic. I had the chicken parma and was impressed at the size of the cutlet and the the mountain of pasta thatcame with it, the house marinara was made to perfection. My mother had the chicken supremo which is a chicken cutlet andeggplant parm topped with fresh tomatoes and melted cheese over a vodka pasta that she placed in the top five Italian meals shehas had in her life. We were equally impressed by the desserts we had to get togo, the fresh made cannoli and tiramisu were bothvery tasty. We will be sure to return the next time we are in town. Read more
More than 'love it'!. We had pastrami sandwich, corned beef sandwich, original Italian sub and tortellini salad. The corned... beef was fresh, tender, and very flavorful. Pastrami was the same tender and very flavorful, both came with half of dill pickle(that was one of the best dill pickle I had in many years, would rank in the top 5 of my entire life). The original Italian subwas just as good as the other 2. The freshness of the tortellini salad would blow you out of the water. Cost is a little morethan other sandwich shops,, its worth the cost and more. Friendly people (I think the older gentleman that helped us might bethe owner). Thank you all at Al & Joe's, the only highlight of this trip to the Midwest. We hope visit again before we leaveChicago. (The smell and hunger got us before walking in the shop, we devoured the first 2 sandwiches before we even thoughtabout taking a picture to share, we only took a picture of the outside).
