I’ve eaten at The Tavern more than a dozen times and always impressed. If I can’t get an outside table overlooking the lake,... I’m happy to eat inside with plenty of TV screens and live music. The food is always great, my favorite has become the Shrimp& Grits…yummy! They even carry a special beer that we requested…that’s local service at its best! Terrible Burger. Meat was unseasoned, condiments tasted like they were ingredients needing literally any flavor profile, bacon... was undercooked, and the bun was COLD! Tasted like they ran over to Kroger and grabbed some generic bun out of the cooler in theback. Their lobster roll and wings came out pretty good as well as the Parmesan fries. (Earned the extra star) But the burgerwas a disaster which should be a staple at any Tavern. Read more

I rarely leave reviews, but felt I needed to. We are regulars in the neighborhood, but this was our first time at the Tavern.... The atmosphere was fine, what we expected; the wait staff was cordial and efficient. However we were most disappointed by thefood. My spinach salad was so vinegary, I ate very little. The lobster in the lobster roll was chopped so fine in a salad, andin hard toasted bread, that it was hard to identify. My husband ate a few bites of his sliced hot beef sandwich, it was bland.With only one tea and water, the bill was $50, plus tip. It was what we expected... but at least for tasty food. Read more
