Executive summary: Excellent focaccia, beautiful space, incredibly slow service, good pasta, mediocre short ribs. The rest of... the story: We arrived around 12:10 for our work lunch, which generally takes 40 or so minutes at other restaurants (esp whenthere are only 3 of us). We were seated almost immediately and menus provided: 3 of them with no real explanation. We receivedour waters and advised the server we'd never been there before. Thankfully, she explained some things about the three differentmenus and told us that everything is made fresh in house. She specifically told us that the focaccia had been made this morningwhen we ordered our focaccia and our main dishes at the same time around 12:15. It seemed like we have been waiting a reallylong time, and we were actually talking about how we thought the bread should have been out almost immediately. Our focacciaappetizer with three butters did not come out until about 12:45 or so. At this point, I was so hungry that I risked theconsumption of barley (which is a sensitivity of mine) to get some food in my stomach. What I can tell you is that the focacciaand those butters were absolutely delicious. The bread was moist without being greasy, it was soft while also crisp on theoutside, and the butters were absolutely delicious. The only improvement I would have made about that appetizer (other than itcoming out more quickly) would be to warm the butters just a little bit to closer to room temperature. They were almost too coldto spread on the bread. Our mains didn't come out until sometime after 1pm. Two of us ordered pasta and the other ordered theshort rib platter. I ordered the gluten-free diavolo pasta. It was good, but there was this weird almost nacho cheese flavor toit. Honestly, I was happy with my dish. My only complaint was that the sauce was a little bit thinner than I would expect. Myother companion, who ordered Bolognese, was less happy with her dish. Her sauce was also thinner than it sho Read more

Went to Chrysalis, arrived early for our reservation so we decided to have a cocktail at the bar. The bartenders Felicia and Ben... are extremely knowledgeable and so friendly, we were kinda sad to leave them for our table. They do create some deliciouscocktails and recommend the Blood Moon Rising. We left the bar and our server Brenner was outstanding, explaining the variousoptions, making recommendations, and helping us choose in the end. What’s cool about this place is you can “create yourown” charcuterie plate with about 25 different items. While everything was good, highly recommend the Humboldt Fog goat milkcheese that is a Blue Cheese wanna-be with a smooth creamy texture and a light blue cheese flavor. The Fig Jam is incredible andI would buy this in a jar. If there is an appetizer you should choose…it would be the Burrata. This is a complex dish combinedso many flavors, none of which canceled or clashed with the other. The flavors all work, and we even added some of the fig jamand pickled grapes to the mix creating even more flavor combinations. I went with the special and was not disappointed…aseared rack of lamb with baby heirloom root vegetables in a Marsala and Cabernet demi glaze. The lamb was perfect, the rootvegetables al dente, and when dipped into the glaze made this one of the best lamb dishes I’ve ever enjoyed. The full housesalad is a meal in itself and the prosecco vinaigrette was a perfect match to the fresh greens. For dessert some Pina ColadaPanna Cotta, very sweet and tasted just like the drink. Need to return and actually try some of the pasta…with all of thewonderful items we had we realized we didn’t have any pasta dishes. Highly recommend this spot…they offer creative food, exceptional service, in a very comfortable atmosphere. Read more

Modern Italian in middle TN?! Yes, please! This place was a hit! Hadn't planned to go, but luckily I was sort of in the area and... I finally got to check this one off my list. I was by myself so I wasn't able to order nearly as much stuff as normal when I'mwith others. I like to order one of everything ????????. Sharing and trying a lot of items is more fun! I can't wait to returnwith a few others so we can check out the entire menu! Highlights - Super convenient location, great service from Molly,build-your-own charcuterie, creative cocktails, fresh ingredients, ample portions. Read more

Tried this place because of the great reviews. I was disappointed. Perhaps they were just having an off night? I’m not sure.... But I can tell you we stood inside the restaurant for a solid 5 minutes or more and could not get a single person to seat us,even though several waiters and the bartender saw us there, making eye contact with them. My husband had to walk over to thebartender and ask for help. The food was mediocre. My broccolini was burnt to a crisp. I mean completely decimated! Theatmosphere is nice though. They did a nice job decorating. But in the end, it’s service and food quality that matters the mostto me, so I won’t be back. Read more
