I have been eat at Barbara's since 2009. I've never had a bad experience until today. I walked in with some others in my part of... three and was immediately greeted by a young waitress who asked if I had a reservation. Since when do you need a reservation atBarbara's? We have always walked in and sat down at whatever table we want. Not anymore apparently as it seemed to bother herthat we had no reservation and that she had to go find us a table to sit at. She said she would have to seat us. She said to gothe round table in the far room. We sat down at the table and then here she came and told us to move to the other round table.Mind you it was just a few minutes later that a part of two (with no reservation) sat down at the first round table and it wasno problem for this waitress. She proceeded to take our drink order and then took our food order. I asked for an extra side ofpoppyseed chicken and said I would pay for it, which further seemed to annoy her. One of my sides I ordered was mashed potatoesand gravy. The food came and I was brought sweet potato caserole instead of mashed potatoes. I let the girl know. Instead ofsaying "I'm sorry, let me swap that out for you", she promptly pulled out our ticket to show me it said sweet potato caserole. I said to her that may he what she wrote down, but that is not what I said. She didn't want to swap it out, but went ahead anddid so. There were several other little comments throughout our meal experience where she apparently just was not happy to beour waitress. Beyond this, the woman at the cash register took our payment and just walked off after giving me the receipt tosign. She had a cold shoulder for whatever reason. Like I said, I've been eating here for years and the regular ladies who workthere have always been very nice, but today was quite a fall from grace so to speak. Loved it ! ???? Feels like you are eating at home ???? At this restaurant you will find comfort style foods. As soon as I... entered the parking lot you will notice the parking lot is not asphalt like the rest ( which I love) You will notice therestaurant looks like someone's house. Upon entering you meet the hostess she will let you know which tables are availabledepending on the size of your party. Once seated your waitress will stop by and bring you some complimentary bread and butteras well as taking your beverage orders. While you wait for your drinks , if this is your first visit you will want to check outthe menu located on the wall it will have listed everything they make . You simply pick and choose what you would like for yourmeal . Pick your meat and then two sides. After your meal don't forget to check out their deserts. When you are ready toleave you pay up front at the counter where the hostess is. Today I went with " Fried Chicken , mashed potatoes, and macaroniand cheese " With sweat tea as my beverage. My food came out in a timely manner, hot and fresh ???? I was very pleased withmy meal as well as the customer service. If I'm ever in this area again I plan to stop by for another delicious meal made here???? I recommend you try this restaurant out and see for yourself. I had the chicken fried steak. That was excellent. The fried okra was also very good but the macaroni and cheese was only OK. I... would go back for the food except for the fact that the service was terrible. We waited quite a long time for our food. Thepeople who were seated and ordered after we did, received their food first. When I asked about it the waitress told me it takeslonger to cook chicken fried steak. That might be true but the woman who was served before us also had chicken fried steak. Soeither they gave that table our food or I don’t know. The service continued to be terrible. Every time we wanted some thing Ihad to flag someone down and request that they send our waitress over. It’s not that one particular waitress was terrible.There were a couple of different waitresses who waited on us during the time that we were there. When I finally asked for a boxto put what I had left from my meal to take home, the waitress who brought it practically threw it in my face. Great food and it was a beautiful day to sit outside...a tiny hidden gem of a restaurant. Very nice and friendly family who... runs the place. Fabulous yeast rolls, everything was so, so good. We've lived in Nashville forever (hubby born here) and justnow finding this delicious little place. Even our dog got to sit out with us and get lots of pets and spoiling from the niceowners. Catfish, slaw (yum), and mac and cheese, fried pork chop, fried apples, and okra, followed by fudge pie and bananapudding. No picture of the yeast rolls (with real butter) because we inhaled them before the rest of the food came out ????. Read more

Delicious southern cooking! The roll I was given while I waited for my food was warm and delicious, the country fried steak was... amazing with the perfect gravy, the fried okra was crispy and fresh, the mac and cheese needed some hot sauce to make it great,but that’s more of a personal taste thing. Even the sweet tea was a perfect blend of sugar and tea. I was also calledsweetie pie by a nice lady, and that made me feel right at home! ???? All in all, a great, tasty experience! Read more
