Located in Versailles, The Stave is a cool place to drop in for a drink. They also have a limited menu for those looking for... some grub. We found the food a bit overpriced for what you get as the taste was just average at best. However we found this tobe a great out of the way place to enjoy a drink with friends or meet new people. My wife and I spent over $100 for what turnedout to be an average steak, a tiny hamburger, fritters, a soda and one cocktail. We travel quite a bit and love to try out newplaces. The Stave is a pretty cool place and I'd recommend it for drinks but think you could find a better place for dinner. Read more

Great quaint little place. Ask for sauce on the side. One person bathroom - with a sink large enough to wash a large child. ... My complaint is that the bourbon prices are a bit steep. I suggest after eating here to get drinks at Castle & Key and enjoythe grounds. Read more

Went there recently for dinner and everything we had was delicious. Very friendly and accommodating staff, nice atmosphere,... agreeable decoration and good selection of beers. As a plus they have an amazing mural at the back of the restaurant. Highlyrecommended!! Read more

The service was really exceptional, there were friendly faces all around. This is a great spot to get any of the bourbons you... may not have been able to sample on your distillery tours. The catfish and grits was a masterclass in “elevated Appalachia”style cuisine. The only negative mark against The Stave was the abundance of flies buzzing around inside. Read more

Went here for a birthday. Our server was very nice, the restaurant was clean and the cocktail I ordered was good. Food was... surprisingly fast to come out. I'd love to give more than 1 star for that but it's too expensive for the food to be like thisand i feel like I wasted my time and money here. I don't know how the pork chop usually comes out but this is a larger cut thanI've ever seen anywhere else. Very dry and bland, tough to eat. Girlfriend's fried chicken was better but still overcooked andbland. The mashed potatoes on both plates would better be described as boiled potatoes, not much else to it. Didn't expectcanned corn to be unceremoniously dumped on the pork chop as a garnish. The menu describes it as a caramelized corn puree but Ihad forgotten what I'd ordered by the time this came out. Really wanted to love this place, the photos on the other reviews lookso good. Read more

We stumbled onto this place. But make reservations because we got lucky. One of the best meals we had on our bourbon adventure.... The waitress was incredible and the food was out of this world. The drinks strong and the spot was clean and just overallamazing. I will be back to try some other things. My husband said the biscuits were so light and fluffy. Go just go it wasfabulous. Read more

Definitely a hidden gem off the beaten path that is a must go to! The service was full of history of the state mixed in with... the largest list of bourbon ????! Alley was our server and deserves a raise on the spot! Bar none I will be back and recommendyou stop by for a plate. Thank you all for a great night of food, friends and bourbon ???? Read more
