The server was great! The food was terrible. Wife ordered a gluten free meal. Her pasta was barely half cooked. She asked for... Italian sausage on her meal. When it arrived there were 2 large sausages on top of her meal. She gave me a bite after she triedit. I almost spit it out on the floor it was like chewing a dirty sock or something. The flavor and consistency were absolutelygross. My daughter couldn't eat half of her food. She said it didn't taste good. She normally will take her left overs hone butrefused to because of the quality of the food. I got lasagna. I figured it was safe. The texture of the half done pasta wascardboard at best. The flavor was not appealing. After eating I started getting sharp pains in my stomach, and I startedbelching chunks. I had diarrhea the rest of the night. Great Italian food. Prices were good as well.
Carinos originally offered a robust Italian ambiance along with its traditional menu. The food is good, but now seems more like... fast food. This location has substituted hip bar logos for the Italian decor and lost that ambiance. I suspect that efforts toeconomize may have also flattened the once richly flavored foods and negatively impacted staff turnover. Read more

Brought the family and a friend in for dinner tonight. Service was friendly, however someone other than our waitress had to get... us started after sitting here waiting for 15 minutes(less than half the restaurant seats filled). My main complaint is the lackof quality in the actual meal. I ordered the lobster ravioli, and was severely underwhelmed. First, there?s only six pieces in a$21 meal, with no sides other than a house salad. What has happened? Did 2020 really take a toll on this restaurant? No more Italian pot roast. No warm soft but crispy bread ????... that came out with the oil and somewhat crispy minced garlic? No Lambrusco! No Moscato???? What happened..? I know FrankfortKentucky didn?t have quite the variety of great food for my taste but atleast I used to have regular meals at certain places. I have loved Johnny Carino's for a long time. Lately I have noticed quality diminishing with every visit. I think today takes... the cake. Medium sized nachos were tiny and lacked toppings. I guess the mouse in the chef's hat couldn't get all the correctamounts on the plate. It is a shame! Read more
It was an overall great experience from the food to the service. The bread is always on point, so no complaints there. The... waitress, shelby was also very nice and friendly.
