The atmosphere was certainly pleasing, and the ladies greeted my son and I warmly on arrival. Our server did a fantastic job... and took her time to explain the options. The food was pleasant, and I thought the portions were adequate. I especially likedthe Miso Soup, and the Crab Ragoon Appetizer. The UMI spin on crab ragoon was quite appealing (picture included), nice job! Ido want to mention that the gentleman with the apron was clearly having a bad day. I'm not certain if he was the chef, themanager, or someone else. He glared at us every time he walked by, clearly he was angry (I have never seen him before in life).I know its difficult to leave personal issues at home, in any event, he probably should have stayed in the back. Had a great experience and a fantastic meal! The atmosphere was very clean and the lighting was just right. Our service was... prompt and courteous. Our server was personable and engaging. Went here for our son's birthday and the food was spectacular. The atmosphere was lovely and the service was impeccable. After... telling our server this the manager was just walking by and we told him also. He ended up giving my family and I a guided tourand not only is it a wonderful place to have a meal but the bar looked amazing and the whiskey room was beautiful. The functionroom would be a fabulous place to have a reception or any function you choose. I can't stress how wonderful this place is. Doyourself a favor and visit Umi asap. Read more
Specifically choose this restaurant to celebrate our anniversary because they have Chilean sea bass and not many places do. The... fish wasn?t hot and the portion was small but tasty. I choose a salad as my side but it was drowning in dressing then found outthe meal comes with a huge salad not a vegetable. Hubby?s roll was very good. $100 for 2 meals, one beer and tip. I think we?llchoose a different place next time. Atmosphere and service are good. I absolutely adore this place. The Wife and I went here randomly, and for someone who doesn't like this kind of food, she... thoroughly enjoyed it. I decided to order sushi that I have never tried before with the raw quail egg on top. Strange texture,but SO GOOD. The food is great and the atmosphere is very homey, cute, and a little fancy. I had the Spicy Seafood Soup, Seaweed Salad and Green Tea for my first visit to this restaurant. The waitress asked how spicy I... wanted the soup from a range of 1-5, and I said a 2 since I've never eaten here and wanted to be on the safe side. The soup wasalmost inedible due to the extreme spiciness of the dish and I do like a bit of heat. When something makes my lips numb, I knowit's too spicy for me, so be careful if you order this soup. The seaweed salad was spot on, but for the $8 cost I would haveexpected a bit more than the dollop that I got. My family really seemed to enjoy their food though. A nephew got the "DragonRoll", which they thoroughly enjoyed. The service was excellent and no complaints there at all. I would think twice aboutrevisiting the restaurant since their prices were "big city prices", and I've been to similar type restaurants nearby that havemore moderate pricing for the same products.
