Found this place because of wife's coworker. 2½ hr drive was well worth it. its amazing to watch them make your hamburgers. ... Some of 2500 they make every day and on that small flat top. Some of the friendliest folks you'll meet. The locals werefriendly also. Didn't try the chili bit that gives us a reason for going back. Great locally owned restaurant. Thank you Read more

This place was a White Castle want-to-be. The place was a dump on the inside, which I can overlook if the food is good. ... However the burgers were basically all onions and hardly any meat. I came here because my golfing buddy won a gift card. Weended up hating the food so much that we gave the balance of the gift card to the gentleman at the next table and vowed to neverreturn to this place. Read more

I was in fort wayne on business from Canada. Just wandered into this place and from the outside I thought it was a wannabe retro... kinda thing. I was pleasantly surprised when I went inside and discovered it is completely legit. The burgers are small in agood way (also inexpensive) so you can have multiple. Service was quick and friendly. Food was simple but perfectly done. If Iever come back to the area I will make a bee line for this spot. Read more

Not sure if it was just the day I went, but these burgers were mediocre at best. They would be vastly improved if they were... salted at all. Meat tasted fresh, but the onions tasted like they were cut a few days ago. No onion taste at all, nor were theysweet either. Did not add anything to the burgers. Could have mistaken them for cabbage. Adding the sauces makes them better, and definitely need to salt them yourself. Counter service was friendly and quick. Read more

Legendary establishment, some of the best sliders you will ever have. What I love the most about this place is you can not come... here for years but when you do return, everything is still the same! That's the mark of a great restaurant, you can come hereand see all walks of life sitting down, getting along with each other and enjoying a great dining experience! Love this place Read more

Months ago, CNN had an article about classic hamburger joints and listed 5 of the best. I went through and saved them all in... "places I want to go" in Google Maps in case I was ever nearby. Today, Google gave me different directions to Columbus, cuttingacross Indiana and Ohio instead of taking I-65 to I-70... and I was like, "What's this green flag along my route?" It wasPowers Hamburgers, in Fort Wayne, IN. So of course, I had to go. I ordered two double hamburgers (after confirming mysuspicions that the cheeseburgers had American cheese), and they were still steaming when they got to the table and weredelicious. The CNN article said to go for the onions, which was an excellent suggestion. (They have "extra onions" on the menufor an extra 25¢, but I have no idea how you could have more onions than were already on my burger.) My oldest got a single(no onions), then a double. Middle had ham and cheese, and youngest had a single and a hot dog. I also got a strawberry malt, and the kids shared a huge slice of lemon cake. Total bill: $26 I don't know how this place made it on a national news site -it was good, but it's out of the way and very small. It must have been crazy right after the article came out, which might bewhy they now sell T-shirts. But I was glad I scratched something off my restaurant bucket list. Read more

Mike, the owner of Powers, is a machine! He's the quickest maker of the most delicious sliders in the midwest. ... open since... 1940! There is a delicious reason why the line was out the door. Read more
