After work, I like to get breakfast at A Divine Encounter Cafe. God centered business, amazing staff and owner, and delicious... food. It?s the only restaurant I frequent. There are many stories I could tell you about Betty?s impact on people, and how I?veseen God move in her cafe. But I?ll tell you about today. First thing this morning, Betty got a group of strangers into aprayer circle. On my left was a roofing inspector, and on my right was a church pastor. As I held those mens hands, I realizedI?m more comfortable around broken, dysfunctional, violent, mentally ill people than ?regular? people. Initially I thought,?there?s something wrong with me. I?m fundamentally broken somewhere deep inside.? So, I decided to scarf down my meal and bethe first one to leave. But Betty came out to my car, and God spoke to me. Her words didn?t matter too much, because the HolySpirit in her said ?there?s nothing wrong with you. I chose your parents. I put you in that family. I raised you in that house.I made you who you are for a reason. You are not broken. You are the instrument I designed you to be, created to complete thework only you can do.? As a psychiatric nurse I feel obligated to mention that I?m not delusional, and I wasn?t having anauditory hallucination of Gods voice. The words quoted above were only placed there to communicate to you the message that foundmy heart in that moment. But perhaps there?s someone else who needs to hear those words. There?s nothing wrong with you. Youare not broken. God made you who you are for a reason and He has a plan for you, one that will bring Him glory and give youpurpose. Read more

Pros: The staff was friendly and greeted us upon arrival. The atmosphere was decent and the French toast while nothing out of... the ordinary, was good for the price. They also have options for vegans, which is wonderful! Cons: I ordered kombucha, and withall of the ice in the glass, it did not amount to much. The avocado toast was overpriced. The bread was a basic wheat that wassoggy when served. Using a heartier, more quality wheat bread would help with this issue. We also didn?t get our drinks refilleduntil our food came. Not a great experience but the place has potential. Read more

What a wonderful place! Everyone in there was so friendly and caring. Our server Samantha was exceptional. We tried the avocado... toast and bluebell kombucha and both were phenomenal. My roommate does not like kombucha because it is normally too sour buteven he loved this, as the flavor was much more mild, while still containing all the health benefits. The owner spoke to us andtold us all about the kombucha and made us feel very at home. After we were done, the chef came out to make sure everything wasgood and he was very sweet and kind and we could tell he cared about his food and our experience. Even if you are not areligious person, you will feel very welcome here and at home and will love your experience. Read more
