Me & my co-workers had just left a meeting & decided to grab some lunch. Skillets was the closest restaurant, so we decided to... go there. This was our first time eating there & let me tell you, the food was delicious! Perfect big portions ???????? Thestaff was also excellent & kind. Spoke with the General Manager there about possibly having a future meeting there & she wasvery helpful as well. Highly recommend this place to everyone!! This was a place I?ve been wanting to try for over a year, unfortunately our experience was very disappointing. The server... Alexa was amazing, absolutely no complaints there. When we told her the food wasn?t good, she immediately offered to remove itfrom our bill. We declined that, because being honest about the quality of our meals, wasn?t about getting it for free. Thepotatoes in the skillet were tasteless and not freshly shredded, tasted frozen. The eggs were medium to small sized anddisappointing. The biscuits and gravy tasted processed and not freshly made. The toast was mediocre: served with a singleslice of toast, sliced in half. The fruit was very fresh, but only came with about 3-4 pieces. There is nothing here that isreally less than $12 and for the expense the ingredients should have at least been fresh. With tip it cost us $40 and wecould?ve gotten better quality at McDonald?s. Came for the first time. Table was clean but on further inspection the cups on the table were dirty and the bowl of creamers had... a few open packets inside. Quick to have our drinks and orders taken, quick to get food. But server never came to check on usuntil after we were done with our food, which plays into the rest of this review. My coworkers got the smashed avocado toastand hashbrowns which they said tasted 'ok'. I got a waffle, eggs, and smoked salmon. Salmon looked unappetizing and tastedoverly salty, but it was the only meat option I'm able to eat so that was on me for picking it. Waffle looked good but tastedsour and after a few bites I couldnt handle it. I never do this because if I try something new and don't like it I'll own it asmy choice from the menu, but this waffle tasted off. Like the milk used or butter used had gone bad. It was also a normal wafflenot any sort of special recipe item that I'd gone on a limb to try out. If checked on I would have requested a new waffle orasked for a pancake instead, but time enough passed that my coworkers had eaten and we needed to get back to work. When ourserver finally came to see us I showed her the plate and that I didn't feel satisfied with it. She removed the waffle from thebill and left the eggs and salmon but immediately gave up any attempts at speaking to us. The lady at the front was personableand when a coworker mentioned the table, lack of attention, and sour food, the lady opted to comp my meal, which is why 3 starsand not less. I've worked in customer service a long time and I know servers don't get paid nearly enough for the things theydeal with, but without the opportunity to have the food fixed I didn't know what else to do than to ask to not be charged.
