Amazing food and flavors! We tried a few of the appetizers, which were the pork egg roll, the pork bao bun, and the nachos with... chicken, pimento cheese, and scallions. Everything was great! Tip: go from 4-6 for happy hour and half priced appetizers. Wealso tried the charcuterie which came with pulled pork, ribs, sausage, brisket, pimento cheese, hushpuppies, slaw, salt/vinegarchips, and pickled onions. We also added a side of mac and cheese. Ah-mazing! They have around six different sauces to choosefrom and they range from sweet to spicy. Next was dessert and we tried the chocolate cream pie and apple cranberry cobbler whichwere both insanely delish!! We arrived at 5 pm before the dinner rush. The service was great, and our food came out reallyquick. Awesome place for a date night. We made a great choice! Can't wait to go back! Read more

My first time there, wife's second. Had the nachos with brisket for appetizer. Absolutely delicious! My wife had the Improper... platter with pulled chicken and brisket. I got the Improper Charcuterie board. Not a huge slaw fan, but everything wasdelicious. The brisket was moist, the ribs were smoked perfectly. The salt and vinegar wing chips were spot on. Definitelyrecommend. Read more

Fun atmosphere, great service, and amazing brisket; my wife tried the gluten free bun which was quite good. I didn't love the... collards as much as some I have tried but everything else was excellent. Read more

I found this on our travels by search DDD featured restaurants and because we were on Carolina, we had to do bbq. We arrived at... 11am (opening) and were the first customers for the day. We were immediately greeted, seated, and approached. We ordered thepineapple basil lemonade, which was delivered 5-6 mins before the pomegranate Margarita that was ordered at the same time. Thedrinks were tasty but wish they had been brought out together. We paid $9 each. We opted to share the DDD featured meal:Improper Charcuterie which had pulled pork, brisket, ribs, andouille sausage, salt & vinegar chips, pimento cheese dip, coleslaw, and hush puppies. The pulled pork was good but nothing exceptionally remarkable. The brisket was probably some of thebest I?ve had. My husband cleaned the rib bones and said they were outstanding and tender. The sausage had great flavor and asnap when you bit into it. The chips were good overall but didn?t taste fresh made and one or two even tasted a bit stale. Thepimento cheese was very good and the perfect tang to compliment the chips. The coleslaw was delicious and even better with a fewsquirts of the Carolina Vinegar sauce. The hush puppies were cooked perfectly and covered in a sweet melted butter. The mealwas fairly priced at $30 and enough for two hungry people with a little leftover but not enough for a to go box. The sauceswere all very good. The spicy hoisin wasn?t really spicy (and I?m a weakling when it comes to heat) but was SO good on thebrisket. The Mary Bs and Carolina mustard was good on the pulled pork and ribs. I think my husbands fave was the Queen Bs whichhad a bit of sweet taste. Tongs Thai sauce was really good but would be delicious on noodles. It seemed a bit out of place forour meal but was probably meant for salmon or some other entree. The decor and atmosphere 5 stars! Super cute! The service 3stars - felt a bit slow considering it?s bbq that should be prepared well ahead of time and nothing we had was Read more

Had a great dinner at the bar that included BBQ tofu with their sweet potato casserole. I like the tofu when I just don?t want... any meat and while I don?t eat a lot of tofu, I like theirs because it is not over flavored. My husband always enjoys the ribs. Their cobblers have a homemade crust and come with ice cream. It is enough for 2 to share. Maybe 3-4 depending on how muchyou would like. Certainly worth it if you are craving something sweet at the end. This restaurant definitely focuses onquality vs. quantity. We?ve always had exceptional food and the staff is great! Read more
