So, the reviews I have heard were not positive. After visiting I know why: these folks mostly brew excellent traditional ales.... Don't go here to drink American Hop Tea and alcohol (American IPA), visit if you want great traditional ales. To be honest, somebeers listed as English Bitters would have been better identified as traditional Brown Ales, but were nonetheless delicious andtraditionally crafted. While all their beers were very good, their Backwoods Ale, listed as an Autumn Ale (think English DarkMild but with 5.3 ABV) was my favorite. Read more
Had a wonderful visit during winter! The bartender was extremely friendly and we enjoyed talking about the local area and beauty... of Maine. The beer selection was excellent and extremely good quality, I was extremely fond of the variety they offered. If ourtravels ever bring us back into the area, we will certainly return! Read more
Love First Mile... they have a nice variety on tap, and a great set of servers! Always a lively atmosphere, and games to help... the conversation (and beeer!) flow. Grabbed a 4-pack to make the canpfire and Porterhouse steaks a complete success. Read more
We have been to craft breweries in Wisconsin, Illinois, Minnesota, Massachusetts, Connecticut and we are avid craft beer lovers.... We've tried it all. This brewery blew us out of the water! The Amber is perfection. They know what they're doing and thefriendly owners that were bartending (husband and wife) can't be missed.
