The food was amazing!!!!! We loved the shrimp and grits with salmon and the shrimp pasta was made with a great creole seasoning... taste! Angie did a awesome job as our waitress! Can’t wait to come back! If you are looking for a nice southern Cajunrestaurant definitely try here!!! Read more
I tried it before and the service was horrible and food was mediocre. Decided to try the August special (app, 2 entrees and... dessert for $30). It was good. Food was good. Service was excellent!!!!!! There was an odor (?) in the entrance and dining roomthat wasn't pleasant but don't know what it was. Full price probably would have been close to $65. We enjoyed our dinner and the atmosphere. Our server, Angie, was AWESOME!! She was very attentive and made sure we had... everything we needed!! Angie provided suggestions, conversation, and excellent service. The smoked chicken croissant was delicious. The shrimp and... grits has a wonderful flavor. My wife enjoyed it but it was a little to spicy for me. The Chile was a disappointment, reminds meof Hormel hot dog Chile topping. Read more
Angie was our server and Emily seated us. Both ladies were very kind polite and friendly. My husband had a hamburger with french... fries and the burger meat was excellent. I had the chicken salad salad and it was very good. Establishment was very cleanbrightly lit excellent view out the windows of the beautiful town of Forsyth. Read more
I have tried to eat here multiple times over the last 9 months without success, even though they were supposed to be open each... time I attempted to stop and there was even an “Open” sign out once (but locked door). The large space was pretty desolatefor its size at the peak of Sunday brunch time, but it worked out for us to be seated quickly by a kind and attentive hostess.The theme seemed disjointed, landing somewhere between “southern farmhouse” and “Creole French”, but not hitting eitherparticularly well. Beyond that, the menu had plenty of options and it would be easy for even a diverse crowd to find somethingto attract their variety of palates. Our waitress Angie was very quick to greet us, kind and accommodating, and waisted noopportunity to check in with us and ensure we had everything we needed throughout the meal. The “Verde” sandwich largelylacked flavor, aside from the bread. The “Peach Bourbon Chicken and Waffles” were more flavorful and the fried chicken waswonderfully crisp; however, the peach bourbon purée was more like a peach juice and lacked any bourbon notes. The waffles werewaffles… nothing particularly noteworthy about them and certainly not the best or worse ever made. Finally, the mimosas, whilenot on the drink menu, were sufficient. Just the right balance of OJ and sparking wine… again, not particularly noteworthy butnot disappointing. Overall, if 3.5 stars was possible, I’d land The French Market right at the top rung of the average scale.I will likely return if I happen to catch them at the right time again, but my expectations will be appropriately set. I had the LG open faced sandwich. Has a fried green tomato, fried egg, bacon, and avocado. It was very good. Price $15 which... isn’t bad if they would lower the cost of drinks. A glass of sweet tea was 2.95 and a cup of coffee $2.95. Also should offermore than coffee like expresso and latte. I have a nice machine at home that does it and it’s easy to use so I know it wouldbe worth the cost. Read more
